At this point, I don't think Mythic know what the hell they want to do, and are just shotgun-blasting ideas to see what sticks.

WHO isn't a threat to WoW anymore because it's not nearly as successful as everybody thought it would be, but it did scare Blizzard.

Achievements and stats were added to WoW as a direct response to WHO's Tome of Knowledge (even if Mythic didn't invent anything new when it comes to that), but more so WoW underwent a drastic change when it comes to PvP precisely because WoW's PvP was pretty much a blatant after-thought. Wintergrasp, as a non-instanced zone dedicated to PvP, is essentially WoW's version of the RvR lakes in WHO.

Regardless that WoW's PvP is still pretty limited and uninteresting because it will always be a PvE game more than anything else, changes were still made to the game because Blizzard knew PvP was going to be the next big thing in MMOs and WoW was lacking in that area (and it still is, IMO).

I was amazed to see Warhammer still running. Though it wasnt to big a shock, LOTR is also still running with PIPs at the helm.

With as horribly as Mythic and Paul "The Douche" Barnett have handled Warhammer and its setting, mood, and style, I wouldn't be surprised if they had the lore of the Elves include having them come from the Cotton Candy Dimension, whereupon arrival they quickly befriended the Sugar Gumdrop Dragons and sang, "Tra la la, la la," all day whilst giving each other hi-fives and playing marbles.
