Ug, I wish I had a NA beta key. Game looks great graphically! Thanks for sharing the character creation process.

I have to admit my expectations were a tad high on this game. The one place it kinda let me down were the kind of quests and quality of the quests they give you. Its mostly (almost but not quite 100%) kill x amount of mobs, kill x mobs for y amount of rare drops etc.

I am kinda spoiled by Wrath I guess - which is mostly the same kind of quests, but ever 5-10 quests they really pull out the stops and surprise you - which so far this hasn't done, but I'll keep at it :).

I should add that the quest quality does seem to pickup quite a bit by level 10 ;).

The endgame raids will come with do time. It took Lineage 2 a little time to get the raids and end game bosses up and going. I imagine the same is going to happen with Aion cause I can't see Aion being anything other then a Lineage 3 and thats not a bad thing by a long shot.

Pretty big dissapoint for 2+ years hype. At least the computer requirements are on par with WoW so it runs easily. It really feels like an Asian themed WoW down to the jumping, quests and fighting. I'll be sticking with FFXI and AoC until The Old Republic and FFXIV come around.

There is a Lineage 3 in the making, However I do not believe in mmos that come incomplete on the market and tell everyone that they need time to complete them... Times have change and so have players tons of mmos are about to be release there is not reason to give low content releases like this the time they need have you can jump on the next one. For what I can see Aion use the cheap way out Graphics are easy but do not make good games... At release a mmo need got the content for like 3 months playing fun, however I think most hardcore players will complete this in 2/3 weeks if they can get over the huge grind part at the end....

I don't see how you are saying Aion is taking the cheap way out as the only thing being tested right now is the 1-20 content for one side of the war.

That isn't even 1/5th of the game. And to add to that this is the first closed NA test they have done to the game. It's still in a rough state and many months from release. There is still alot of time for them to polish up the quests and fix the bugs.

It's still way to early to make any calls on the game. Even less so since you are not even seeing the full extent of the game.

If you are looking for a full on preview of the game I suggest you try out the Chinese version of the game. The amount of content in the game is just jaw dropping compared to what you are getting to see now.

That is what age of conan did! Look the players out of anything beyond the starter zone just to discover later that the game sucks :(

I find it interesting how some people now refer to characters as "toons", almost as if they want to remove the last vestiges of roleplaying from the games and sugar coat everything with a side of special ed.

People who refer to their characters as "toons" share a close spot on the douchebag scale with the people who shop at "Tarjay." Oh, and unless you're playing a pen and paper RPG, you won't be "rolling" that "toon", so lose the faux-RPG lingo which doesn't make any sense in the mmo context. I'm willing to bet these kids have never even held a D8 or a D20 in their lives.

I can't seem to find it, nor it's explained in this blog post.

Can you modify your body, somewhat like in Perfect World? In the screenshots shown above I see no body modifier menu, but in the videos available in the site you can see that there are many incredible body-modification tools, like height, weight and such.

Does anybody know about it?
