Is he...is he actually wearing pants with the WAR symbol air-brushed on the leg? Is that his new venture? A clothing line? I'll suggest the brand name...how about...'Fail Wear'. Corporate logo could be a talking bobble head that just doesn't know when to stfu.

Seriously, he needs to just go away for awhile.

Its not like WAR is failing, it may not be booming but it isn't going anywhere but up from here on out.

Nowhere to go but up is pretty much the very definition of damning with faint praise.

From WoW Killer #478 at release to "At least things couldn't get any worse!" shortly thereafter is not indicative of an overly successful franchise no matter how optimistically one cares to paint it.

@ mikejl

Though I understand your feelings towards Fess, but you'll have to forgive him and many other peeps who feel Paul tends to overhype things (I myself included). His tooting that War will be the Led Zepplin of MMO's prove to be obviously not when released. I'm not saying it's a bad game...but Paul and his flare for the charismatic tend to made it far more than it was. Burned once, people get weary of his act.

I've played WAR twice now and this is my feeling on it. I would have an active sub if I was rolling in $$. But as it is its not worth $15 a month to me.

I have to say that in Paul's case its Justifiable Trollicide. Its not a horrid game but he made it out to be the godking of PvP mmos. Its not its somwhere in the imperfect mortal realm.

Screw Paul! All they need to hype the game is Suicide Girls tbh they should work out a serious cross promotion partnership that would be awesome and perhaps controversial if done right. Lots of good press for APB.

LOL, more empty hype from the king of empty hype. Paul needs to STFU, go make a marketing MMO where the player gets to hype and verbally spew all over everyone, its a topic he knows well and may actually be able to pull off.

How is this "empty hype"? Politicians do "empty hype" not game promoters backed by footage. Get your facts straight, please.

WAR aside...

Ubisoft has (the great) Joel Mcale and James Cameron.

TOR has had 15-20% of the coverage on everysite, for virtually revealing nothing BUT a trailer.

EA tells APB "uh... you can have another Dev interview you. He's a celeb in his own mind at least".

FFS, Tila Tequila or Flesh Beard Pratt would have been less annoying.

I'd rather have paul barnett (or really anyone else) at my event instead of james cameron talking absolute boring nonsense with nothing like a static logo behind hime for a whole hour. Ubi's presser managed to bore the audience almost as much as nintendo last year.

I was more excited about this game from the original presentation, with selfish Paul trying to constantly keep the spotlight on himself (look at me I wear shades in doors and dying game logos on my pants!! LOOK AT ME ME MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE) just takes away from what should be getting the most attention, that being the game which should speak for itself.

This presentation didn't serve anything but to remind people that EA were responsible for Warhammer Online's premature launch.

lol at "dying game" looks like some trolls are still sore about the fact that warhammer is alive and well despite all the crap they talk.

Paul is awesome. Don't be sad because you're favorite MMO doesn't have a Paul with awesome pants.

Lot of Paul hating today. Good... he's a bloody pest.

I blame Ten Ton Hammer. They kissed his ass so much he thinks he's the bees knees now. Someone needs to shove another donut in his lardy mouth double-quick.

On the up side he makes Richard Garriett look like a gaming industry professional by comparison, which is a hell of an achievement!
