For somebody who appreciates their customer in front of the press, they sure as hell don't listen to the fans very much...

Nay young ones, it is not the customers that make blizzard a good dealer, but blizzard alone. The monster that is french owned, operated and driven is good at one thing and that is digital manipulation of your brain cells reader!

Anything so simple, so colorful, so.......french, is bound to capture the simple masses. No, it certainly isnt the simple minded consumer, acting like lemmings or blind sheep as the french monster wraps its arms around and sooths those fears with pretty colors and...... *GEAR*!!!.

The blind masses are not listened to, blizzard forums are patrolled (or were) by french pr hitmen, instantly deleting anything negative from the mindless mobs......."only positive comments please". Throwing in a calming word or two when those loyal subs begin to turn into rabble.

How can it be that this giant french monster claims that it is the consumer that makes them as popular as they are, that they are...... "growing up around our games", well friends, as everyone knows, when a child is shown only one way to do things, when a child is shown only one example of anything, and when that child is shown only one narrow view of the world, they tend to believe it to be true, and as is also the case, abused children grow up to be abusers themselves.....devs working at blizzard.
------------------------------------------------------------------
On a slightly more serious note. Part of the dark dripping sarcasm i was spewing is true, and that is fact blizzard has taken in so many folks and they are so used to or have only been exposed to WOW that they believe this to be the way of MMO's. A sad thing. Maybe one day that door blizzard keeps everyone behind will be broken down and some folks not worrying about time invested will either quit the trash game or move on to relive their lives.

Consumers making blizzard popular? Not a chance, they arent smart enough. Manipulation, and blizzard PR doing its job is what keeps the game popular, and those that play it under control. Hope the government regulates WOW someday, they deserve it.

Blizzard is the only one so far that was able to hold numbers in the mmo world if you like it or not WoW is one of the better mmos out there still after 4 years... The reasons are:

1. Community they may be kids or not or the guy playing in his mothers basement or the most hatred casual player or the fat dude (like me) or just some guy or girl like you! They all trying to enjoy the game and hoping to become the more big WoW Hero. And unlike some other mmos the chat channels are mostly active and you see lots of times people passing by you some even talk others spam you and some may ask you gold and some just want your help grouping for a instant or 2. Anyway you are not alone!

2. WoW really add the M in the Massively of the mmo for PVE with tons of zones, 100s of hours of content. Lots of instants and the higher you go the better they become till at a point where they become your 2nd job however.....

3. The classes are all fun to play many skills are good and fun to discover

4. I the endgame that never ends! There is always a new patch coming with new content like raids or something like casual world events got the best armor in the game today got the highest dps or heals it may all change tomorrow and you may have to relearn to play your class but hey its keeps it fun!

5. Story line, Well like its highly easy to let your brains in the bed when you playing this and just rush like a monkey on speedo true the 1-80 levels and use level guides like Zygor but you miss out on many story clues in the quest texts that got many clues why you are doing this and that and tell kinda a background story on the npc your taken the quest from! And today the lich king storyline got lots of scripted content that is played in front of your eyes. And they make you care about the story!

6. Low cost there is no cash store and crap like it only 15 bucks a month give you full address to everything in the game! You may have too lay down on the table 40 bucks extra sometimes but it keep the developers going!

7. Limit use of load screens, really there is 1 when you log in, one when you travel to the other land masses and 1 when you enter a instant. The game runs good and the world feels real like you can just walk from one zone and it give you a little more freedom!

Hell I known that WoW can get boring after you play it for a long time (I burned out like 5 times and today have a hard time making my self login and do not even think about level a other toon), I known the end game is really grinding mostly, And I do known that the there are some guilds and players that miss the point complete and see real players like one bag with numbers of dps/crit/armor and do not care about the person behind it... Hell they even will take a bot over you if the dps/Tanking/Healing is higher....

Anyway at the moment for me there is no game out there so good as WoW's PVE content!(What is really sad really) Do not get me started on LOTRO! Bioware may take them down in the long run with there new star wars mmo but they got to show more them what they did to make me want it!

I also understand that this game is not so good for all your pvpers out there just want to kill other players and not care about story or quests hell you like to just grind and get it over with..... Well there are many better PVP mmo games out there so please go play something else!

My cohort and I actually came up with these exact points(that Blizzard mentions) about 2 years ago.

Blizzard built a ravenous, and highly dedicated following of fans from the beginning, and while the downside was they take forever to release something, when they did, it worked-and worked well.

Of course, now they've grown so large, they are hard to overcome(from the standpoint of another company besting Blizzard).

To Mike Morhaime and Blizzard.

"Our commitment to quality has helped us grow a global audience that has grown with every release. While our competitors will be trying to overcome these challenges to grow their brands, we're already a major player there. None have achieved the same level of online growth as World of Warcraft. We're able to leverage huge investments in new content across the world's largest MMO subscriber base."

So?

You're so rich and all but you're still charging fans of your company at your Blizzcon. If you're that rich enough then why are you still charging for fans participating?

Some life for Blizz especially for Mike Morhaime. Brag all you want, I hope you froze to death with your cold cash.
