I really don't understand the appeal of twitter. The general concept makes sense when used in the way Facebook does, as "status updates" -- a small part of a larger functionality, but alone the service seems useless. The only good that has come out of twitter is a sharp drop in mass-text messages being sent to me. I guess people would rather share their stupid blurbs freely with the entire world than pay to spam 400 of their friends with texts...fine by me.
