Aion is huge and it's not even out here yet, but that doesn't mean this WoW-killer doesn't have a massive fan base. Well European fans are in for a treat as gaming site Rock, Paper, Shotgun are offering keys to any gamer who emails them.
The Aion beta will be taking place between 5-7th June and will allow participants to get a taste of the game by leveling an Elyos (the angel types) to twenty and explore the most-recently revealed zone of Eltnen. The only catch being that you must be in Europe to enter the beta, so I'm guessing the keys will only activate if the servers confirm your IP address is within the EU.
So what are you waiting for, EU folks? Get emailing now before all the keys are gone!

I have been playing Aion on the Chineese server. It is the WoW killer. I have played WoW for almost 3 years now. Aion is better mechanics wise in almost every way over WoW. Aion is a polished product unlike the clumsy, clunky and glitchy games like Warhammer online and AoC. It will all come down to peoples prefrence in the end. But a better game Aion most def is.
Last note.
There was a time when people claimed games like Everquest would never be de-throned. Yet they have been. WoW isnt going to lose all its fans but eventually it will not be number one anymore. Thats what makes a game a WoW Killer. The ability to takes its slot at the top.

The MMO highways and byways are littered with the decaying corpses of endless "WoW-killers", honestly you aren't saying a single thing that hasn't been said endless times before.
Will WoW fall from it's throne? Someday, to be sure, though I'd bet all of my gold, plantinum, and isk that it'll be Blizzard that dethrones it.
As for the EQ comparison, honestly I've never thought that argument very compelling. Why? Network effect. EQ benefited somewhat from network effect, to be sure, but compared to WoW it was as an asteroid compared to a super-massive black hole. The two aren't really comparable on anything other then a uselessly gross level.
At this point, as with Windows (and for many of the same reasons), WoW doesn't have to be 'better' (how ever you care to define that) to hold on to most of its playerbase, it just has to be "good enough". My own personal boredom with the game aside, it is more then "good enough" and, barring some monumentally stupid move (something Blizz has never been overly subject to, unlike, say, NCsoft), it will continue to be "good enough" for the foreseeable future.

Aion is a polished product what is rare for a mmo release this days... But it lag two things WoW got! There are no mounts in this game, the zones really feel small, the flying part is really limited you can not fly to the other side of a map for example! The game will not run on the lower end computers! And the big lag of content compare to the World of Warcraft size the World of Aion can fit in the starter zones of Wotlk!
How ever this game is looking great and better mechanics wise in almost every way over WoW.
