In Lord of the Rings Online, destiny is more than a word, it's a form of currency. Destiny Points -- gained after level 10 -- are just one of the many meta-game goals players have to work towards over their long and illustrious careers fighting the forces of evil. Of course, you can also use your built up Destiny Points to empower your monster character for PvMP sessions as well, so it's more of a fighting the forces of evil, kinda, thing.
Pretty confusing, right? That's why Turbine has this handy-dandy guide covering all the essentials about Destiny Points, how they work and what you can use them towards. If you're new to Lord of the Rings Online, or you're just the kind of player who shirks destiny and its silly points, reading through the guide may be a good idea. Although, what kind of MMO player shirks destiny when it comes in point form?

Does anyone actually do PvMP still? Is there any point? Last time I bothered it check it was just a zerg-fest, with whoever was buffed by the last patch winning out assuming they had numbers. It's the weakest part of the game.
As for DP I have 10,000+ saved up at the moment. All the buffs are fairly useless for general play. Exhanced XP you say? For those of us who work rest is more than enough to see clear through an evening's play - not that I want to level up too fast (you out-level the quests, especially the book quests, too fast if you aren't careful with rest).
But it's a great reward... I just wish it had another use.
There should be a DP trader, where you can exchange your DP for good gear or even special decorative items (for housing/clothes)... just something so that there is another choice for the non-power leveller with a bulging DP wallet.
Hell, you know special legendry weapons would be great thing to trade DP for. It would hurt to buy them so they'd have to be worth it, but you'd have earned whatever buff they'd give you.

I have a lifetime sub to lotr (i know, laugh, i deserve it), havent played in well over 2 years. stuff is still there i imagine with 200k plus dp on my stalker, my pve toon is level 10, high enough to get into mp play.
The game isnt worth playing for me as all i did was pvmp, before i left the place was a zergfest when anyone was on and you were required to be in one of the A-list idiot tribes to have a chance of any real points due to this line of thinking. And the advancement points for mp characters were insane, i am told they are even more insane now and many pvmp areas are ghost towns.
