How are you defining closed vs open beta. The 'open' beta for MO seems just as closed as the closed beta for say UO.

Am I missing something or is Mortal Online incorrectly labeled as being in open beta?

Doesn't open beta mean anyone that wants to use it, can?

Yeah, it's a continuing work in progress each week, I'd imagine. That line between closed and open beta is a fine one, and some games even say they're doing both simultaneously.

Not that it really matters as it will most likely be another F2P Asian grindfest, but Jade Dynasty by Perfect World Entertainment is in alpha and enters closed beta in a week and a half or so.

Please remember to mention if a beta is only available to a specific territory- some are only available to stateside gamers!

I'm pretty sure that for at least 10 minutes per day, it becomes 'open' beta.

I find that picture seriously disturbing... is that what TV entertainment once looked like? ;)

Great new column. How frequently will it be updated? Bi-weekly?

I always felt bad for the girl on the right who didn't really have big bouncing boobs... She probably felt so out of place in that show.

That's because I believe she was a tri-athlete at the time on the side. You don't get much in the way of fat to bounce around when doing that sport unless you surgically get it put there. Her twin sister was also a fire fighter...

And how on earth did I get that useless trivia? I did a lot of channel surfing in boredom after work before the days of personal computers, internet and MMO's. And the Authentication servers are currently down at Blizz, so I thought enlighten readers here to this useless trivia since it was brought up and I have nothing else to do.

/sigh
