Earth Eternal beta draws nearer

The game actually looks like it's not only kid/family-friendly but a good bargain and ... well ... it's just so gosh-darned cute. This is the first I've heard of this MMO.

Besides, I've always wanted to play a rabbit in an MMO -- who else is offering you an opportunity like that? ;)

i have no clue what the last two on right are doing in this game. a cyclops? and i didnt even know what that one next to it is... an anthropomorphic clock?

Does this game has pandas or penguins?
Because one of the greatest MMO dreams of mine is being able to play as one of those two species...

If you would have been following Earth Eternal for the past few years now you would know that this is in no way a "furry" game. In fact, the developers didn't even know the "furry" sub-culture existed until after development had already begun on this project.

The character concept is entirely meant to be something unique from other games. I'm pretty tired of human, elf, dwarf...aren't you? Besides, in the past months they've added more traditional non-animal related character options for people like you who assume the worst about the concept.

Furthermore, as this game is going to be all-ages, explicit chat will be strictly prohibited, therefore aligning this game more on the disney side of anthropomorphic characters than the fetish side.

Thud, it may not have been intended to draw the furry crowd, but good lord this is going to draw them in. I do like the style of it though, and wish it success.

Sparkplay Media, the company behind Earth Eternal has actually been around in the gaming industry for a very very long time. Their roots were started back in the MUD genre as the company Iron Realms Entertainment. I doubt few here recognize the name of the company but you can find information about it at http://www.ironrealms.com

The company was founded by Matt Mihaly(sp?) and eventually passed on to Jeremy Saunders(sp?) in 2006 I believe it was when Matt moved over to start Sparkplay Media and to start work on the Earth Eternal title. I highly recommend contacting him if you want further information about the game and the companies.

Iron Realms, and I have no doubt Sparkplay Media as well, has a great history of story telling, game creation and player interaction. Their very original MUD was called Achaea and continues to flourish even today. They've expanded from Achaea, to Aetolia, to Imperian, to Lusternia and are expanding out their MUD properties with two additional games currently in production. Midkemia Online and Tears of Polaris. I would also highly recommend contacting Jeremy through their company website.

To call Earth Eternal a game about "furries" without actually having played it is an insult. Matt and his team are brilliant writers and lore crafters and I have no doubt in my mind that this title will not be just some place for people to yiff and erp.
