Star Trek fans are really checking any and all details one mistake and they can go on for hours about it! So watch out Cryptic Studios and make us a good game!

lol this line make me smile:
Your bridge officer will be a computer-controlled character--not unlike a "pet" in other massively multiplayer games--and will, like your character, gain experience levels and new items over the course of your career.

So do you have too feed your number one and keep trace of his "Happy" meter so he does more dps?

Hope there will be a inside the ship mode also and some mission where Q bother you also will be fun when the borg hit you and you hit them back with the great tech that make them the more weak race of them all ;)

after reading this my interest in the game died of... at once.

- "npc" parties... really... cant explore on my own? need a bunch of brain dead npc's ?
- SPACE raids... seriously? (this means static world : ( )
- Instanced world ...travel "fast" by clicking on a map....
- levels decide how strong you are, instead of your skil, ship and tactics...
- PvP is high level only and in certain area's only.
..and these are just a few things that make me cringe.

so far this game has the makings of a Themepark game, and it sounds suspiciouly like a WoW clone... i hope i'm the wrong, but my interest just died.

Heh. Your reasons for cringing are my reasons for liking the game even more, for the most part. STO is sounding very reminiscent of the original Guild Wars, a game I greatly enjoyed -- in terms of travel, NPC parties, leveling, etc.

If it's really a WoW clone, I would share your disinterest. But if it's more along the lines of a Guild Wars clone in certain respects, I'm all for it.
