Looks like its going to be one of those cheap-budget horror stories that end up failing before they come out... no thanks =)

>>This film looks like it could be considered a remake of Running Man for computer game generation.

Or, you know, Ender's Game.

Except that conceit in Ender's Game was just one strand in a richly woven narrative. Ender's Game allowed its protagonist to be uncomfortable and morally ambiguous, not some bit player in a clearly defined struggle between the good guys and evil manipulators.

Oh my.

There is a reason why it is being released in September and not the big weekends of Memorial Day and July 4th.

The studios giving out this slop don't expect it to survive much past Labor day.

And what is it with this constant obsession with teenage boys involved with world affairs theme we have going on in our popular culture? No one wants to see that pig slop and yet we are forced to watch iterations of it in every awful movie Hollywood tries to sell us.

Looked like a half-way decent dvd movie. Has some good names in it. Definitely for the teen male markets, but I'll watch it. Looks like a lot of action.

I like both actors, but this sounds like a moving about gaming made for people who don't game, and who are suspicious of gaming. The movie seems to play on stereotype Mom and Dad's fears, so to speak.

Sort of "Mazes and Monsters" starring Tom Hanks, but for the digital age.

The problem is, most people are gamers now. Seniors play the Wii in retirement homes, and my own retiree Dad is a _huge_ fan of games like F.E.A.R. and the current Half-Life saga.

By targeting to people who fear games, or are suspicious of them, they're missing the majority of their potential audience.

I know I won't pay to see this in the theater ... if I see it at all.

Yawn. Let's find a new market to exploit and vilify. Ah, online game players this week. Let the money roll in, suckers.

Actually this movie looks interesting and like something new for once. I don't know why people are putting it down. Its a new plot, unexplored venues, and looks to be action packed. Trailers lie a lot but this one seems to be worth watching.
