When is it due out? I heard "sometime in May" before, but nothing since then..

I'd say either June or July.

This stuff looks awesome by the way. I love platforming!

So... is this zone more of a PvE thing? Which WAR desperately needs....

It's a shame to see all of that potential lore and artwork go to waste on just fighting other players...

It seems like it, but there is the chance that after your 30 minutes are up you will only have another couple of minutes to finish your runs before the instance flips to the other side, unless they are slow at gathering resources, then it could take them an hour or so.

Looks great BTW. My guild is sick and tired of Badlands being so dead, hopefully this brings some more people back to the game.

It's more of a mix between PvE and PvP, or, if you prefer, sequence of PvE and PvP (like darkness falls was). You enter the zone when there are still enemies in, you kill em all. Once they're killed, it becomes purely PvE (unless some enemy manages to hide from the "purge" and ambushes you, but since they cannot respawn in the zone and you can they can't do much more than hit & run) until the enemy gains access again, then it becomes PvP again.

By the way, we don't really know how long it'll take to gather the resources to make the zone flip. The faction that flips the zone has exclusive access for half an hour, during which the resource gathering is frozen. This means that after the half an hour is passed, the opposite faction still has to "fill it's bar" from where it's been left. If the bar was almost filled it might happen soon. But if the bar had just begun it might take hours, maybe several hours. We'll have to see about that because we don't know how many zone flips and how many kills it takes to fill the bar. It could be 100 (unlikely) or it could be 10000.

Platforming in a lag fest such as WAR is going to be so much fun.

If your server isn't balanced, have fun flying/running all the way back when you die as you'll never see the zone in your control.
