DO NOT WANT. WILL NOT PLAY. I'm still wiped out after multiple house furniture purchases for Runes of Magic. No More! Sub based games only from now on.

Yep, if they add an item mall, I will never buy it.

No negotiations.

All that wonderful customization they keep showing off, but its gonna cost 5 bucks a mask? Screw that. Bye Cryptic.

For Champs: I'd be ok with micro's if they go F2P. I highly doubt they will though. It would be "acceptable" if the sub was $5/month plus MT's. Heck, I might even subcribe on a whim at that point. A $5/month price is about the only thing that would convince me to actually get a sub for this game actually.

For STO: microtransactions don't fit in with a Federation theme... nor very well from a Klingon point of view. Maybe if they release an expansion pack for adding the Ferengi as a playable faction then I can see how dollars could translate to GPL...

I don't want to play a game where rich people only have the fun.

Been a fan of Champions since first playing the pen & paper RPG some 15 years ago.. but if they make this a microtransaction game, they just lost me as a customer.

The store might just sell character renaming tokens and extra character slots - two things CoH/V also brought in. No need for a server change token since ChampO doesn't have different servers.

We'll have to see what they announce. If they go the Guild Wars model it would be very interesting...

It is a bit fascinating how people seem to jump to conclusions from rather minimal information.

There is a Champions Store in the beta of the game. Since it was not working there is nothing that can be said about what they might sell there.

Microtransactions is just a way to handle payments for things that cost so little that it is not worth the cost overhead of doing a credit card transaction. Again does not say anything what may be sold.

And it definitely does not say anything about the payment models they have been looking at for Champions Online.

Wow, you guys are completely overreacting. More than likely this is just for stuff like buying additional slots, character renames/transfers/etc, cosmetic changes such as changing your sex or body type, etc. And the character creator is already amazing. If they want to finance additional development of the creator with micro transactions, what's so bad about that? It's not like the basic options are limited. If some dude wants to spend 99 cents for special rainbow wings that are purely aesthetic then what's the big deal? Unless you can say without a doubt that the micro transaction content would have been developed without the micro transaction funding or provides a real gameplay advantage, then you need to stfu. It's such a childish thing to get upset over.

what I find fascinating is all these people saying they are testing something for NO REASON hahahahah

a company does not spend this many man hours this late in the game just testing something, come on guys, stop with the infinite positive attitude. We saw these voices of reasons in the SOE games, telling us they are just doing this or just doing that, and you see how that ended up.
