Mission architect -- an amazing system that allows a very creative player-base to finally take the reigns of creation and make amazing in-game arcs that feature personalized stories, personalized characters, farming, well made.... wait, what?
Yes, you heard that right, people have already began to leverage City of Heroes's architect system into nothing more than powerleveling tool, and the community doesn't find that to be too enjoyable. Luckily, Matt "Positron" Miller, the lead designer, has already stepped up with a post to the community on the City of Heroes message board about how they plan on dealing with these problems.
The team wishes to remove the rewards some characters may have gained through powerleveling, all the way up to removing access to characters that were solely leveled up via mission architect exploits. Past working on a player by player bases, some badges will be changed while others may be removed entirely due to the exploiting groups surrounding them. Lastly, but certainly not least, the team will be proactively banning missions that are created to exploit the system.
For Matt's full plan, check out his post over on the City of Heroes message board.

Just like to comment here about mission architect. Beta testers of this system was shown in testing to be full of massive bugs and exploitable items that positron himself was fully aware of. The devs were begged by several of us to not push this out without safegaurding and fixing these bugs/exploits. Yet they released this product full of holes and ow they want to blame their player base for Using the very tools they were bragging to game sites about. Alot of the coh community are very upset with the devs over their lack of competency for delivering a product that was poorly constructed and needed alot more work before being released. Right now many many mission are not playable because of constant patching as they try to catch up and plug the holes they have known about for several months.

Quit calling them "cheaters." "Cheating" implies that they're somehow breaking the rules. These people aren't "cheaters," they're dissatisfied customers.
AE is just being used as it is canonically portrayed--- a "danger room" training ground for getting their characters street-ready in less time. Training yourself up to competence BEFORE you go out and attack real thugs? Heaven forfend, where would anyone get an idea like THAT?
People have made AE farms so they can get past all the silly-ass grindtastic CRAP they have to go through just to get their characters approximating what they wanted to START with. Come on. If you don't like the farming missions, don't play. Simple, no? And it's not as if the speed-levelers do anything at all to interfere with the fun that other people are having. It's not as if they can go out and "grief" the lowbies and noobs in this system, or cheat other people out of in-game rewards.
Look, it's basic economics. If customers don't have fun, then they LEAVE. And self evidently, if people are willing to expend this much effort just to get a workaround, then the game self evidently ISN'T FUN.
Spending days or weeks "bunny skinning" just to make your superhero character moderately competent ISN'T FUN. Having your "invulnerable and super strong" hero knocked on his can by a human purse snatcher ISN'T FUN. Getting powerful enough to be effective, only to receive little or no reward for tackling foes you can actually handle, ISN'T FUN. Having to HUNT for opponents with sufficient XP to justify fighting them ISN'T FUN. Having to spend more of your precious online time flying, jumping, running or BUSSING to the next leg of your mission ISN'T FUN. Trawling through the sewers for hours on end just for a handful of xp ISN'T FUN. Having to exemplar--- losing half your powers and getting NO xp--- just to get a team ISN'T FUN. Taking hours, then days, then WEEKS just to go up one level and gain just one tiny new barely-useful power that won't even SCRATCH the new rank of enemies you go up against ISN'T FUN.
Complaining that the players have found something MORE FUN to do than your pre-designed, slow, grinding, repetitive, back-to-square-one-yet-again prefab system, and banhammering them for actually ENJOYING the game, is bass ackwards, and worse, POOR BUSINESS.

I am completely furious abou this whole situation. I have played this game for years and given NC Soft a lot of money. I know NC Soft is hurting, going against Blizzard so I would think they would like my money.
I have many 50s and most of the time I don't care about experience or levels because all I really do on the game is task forces and things of that nature. I just enjoy playing. That's it.
Over a month ago I was invited to an AE team, back when AE first started and no one knew anything about it. I got a lot of experience. I did not think anything about it. I just thought they game was doing something super cool for its customers or the creater did a great job with the mission.
Now my account has been suspended for 3 days and the character deleated.
This is why people go to Blizzard! I will find a game on Blizzard that I enjoy because as far as I am concerend NC Soft is the cheater here. They are indian givers. How dare they give me something and take it back, when I did nothing wrong.
I also have been looking for ways to find more time in my day and save money. I would like to thank them for helping me with that choice. I am so mad now and have such a bad taste in my mouth, that they can forget about ever seeing me again.
I am no business genius but I do know it is completely stupid to anger loyal customers whom you have had for years. I won't come back and I will tell my friends who game to never come back!
