Could it be a MMO *about* Microsoft instead, please? I so want to play a fantasy version of Steve Ballmer!

@ crsh -- Nice, a corporate ladder MMO. But you'd risk getting banned for hopping around screaming, "Developers, Developers, Developers!"

Banned? Nah, that's his special attack, "raise the spirits, while looking like an ape". Awards 2000 renown points, a title, three achievements *every single time* and you become an Internet meme for 7 days.

From all I've read, its the extra testing that is mandatory on consoles that is really hard on MMO's in that format. I am hoping that if they make Champions on both, that it is a separate and unconnected build of the game because I feel that PC gamers will suffer enormously due to the console version. PC gamers having to wait a month or more on getting a simple patch approved because consoles have to wait.

While this sounds good to some(less patch F ups), imagine having something the size of Book 7 from LOTRO put on hold for an additional month because something as inconsequential as the horse racing needs a patch.

I think they are looking at this the wrong way, just because its MMO doesnt mean it has to be RPG, Perfect example the biggest hype right now is the Global Agenda, which is a MMOFPS, I think they just need to focus what capabiltieis they can do, obviously the FPS market on the 360 is booming with titles like WaW, they just need to be realistic.

What they need to do is stick to the small scale genre, like with Phantasy Star Online or Monster Hunter. Because for console games, they were huge hits.

More massive RPG style games on the console would do us good, even if the dungeons are instanced, even if the game takes 5 steps backwards in terms of content. Guaranteed if you dummied it up a bit and made it into a team based game with some sociability and some big group raids (basic) people would love it, regardless of all the bells and whistles it doesn't have.

I swear all of this WoW tourism in game development makes me sick.

Don't forget that Square Enix's Rapture is still set to be released for PS3, 360, and PC. A lot of people are suspecting we'll see something at E3.
