Micronauts! They were bloody fantastic. And then the comic adventures appeared and gave them a storyline, which just made it all the better. I'd love to run around as one of those little transparent guys and drive around in my Photon Sled or Hydra or Battle Cruiser...

Lincoln Logs?

No, seriously... if anyone ever gets an FPS MMO to work well I wouldn't mind seeing G.I.Joe or Transformers... but really, LEGO Universe just about covers the best toy I'd want to see made into an MMO. Most other toys would do better as single player or small team cooperative games.

I honestly think a Harry Potter MMO would do extremely well. They'd have to be careful about how they do it though...the traditional "grind to max then raid" design would probably not work well.

I'm thinking a meeting of Habbo Hotel and World of Warcraft. A lot of the allure of a Harry Potter MMO would be just hanging out in the massive school of Hogwarts. How cool would it be to just walk around the massive halls of the school?

Transformers !
Weirdy gameplay hybrids are all the rage at the moment, and you don't get much more hybrid core gameplay than brawling, shooting, racing, flying & space battles - especially when they overlap for truck vs robot vs plane.

I do agree with Jason that they aren't exactly crying out for MMOs so much as quality games in general, and that Lego certianly leads the pack in that regard.

Gummi Bears. The era of the Acient Gummis. I would seriously play that and love it.

Oh yeah! I'd play that...

Disney really needs to follow in The Cartoon Network's footsteps and put out a Fusion Fall type game letting players play in all their properties and worlds.

Yeah definitely G1 TRANSFORMERS.

But remember, on Cybertron, the transformers were just robots - they didn't disguise themselves as vehicles until they came to Earth. So that could be incorporated somehow.

Please though, none of the ridiculous "beast-robots" or the stupid robots in the movie.

transformers would definately be epic! though it would need more of a FPS MMO style, robots gearing up doesnt make sense.

though i think a harry potter mmo from a comercial POV would be a travesty. fine millions love it. but of the millions how many are gamers and in particular mmo'rs, so we have already narrowed it down alot.. then how many want to play an inevitably carebear game about some loser kid shouting expeliamus (or whatever he says). ultimately i dont see this game with a pop above 100k ppl which in mmo terms is failure!

Re: Gummi Bears

That is so weird - earlier today I actually Googled for the lyrics of the Gummi Bears theme tune! That could be fun - but it would be quite crazy.

"Gummi Bears!
Bouncing here and there and everywhere.
High adventure that's beyond compare!
They are the Gummi Bears."

Ben, they did have alternate models, and I remember some of them changing into vehicles (Cybertron Vehicles)[check out the first episode on youtube]

I would love a Transformers (G1, just before the events of the movie, but with the characters) or G.I. Joe.. man that would be addicting

Probably something Oz theme based which actually might look much like current MMORPGs today since there is certainly the whole Wizard, Witches, flying monkeys, pets, green citys, forest, lions, group quests thingy but yeah Wizard of Oz.

Oz. the Oz books were really entertaining for the bizzare world they created, filled with tiktok robots and women who kept a collection of heads to wear.

Nobody will remember these shows but me, but I would love an MMO based off of them:

1) Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego! (Based off the game or the PBS Series of the same name.)
2) Visionaries: Knights of the Magical light.
3) The Galaxy Rangers! (A personal favorite of mine as a kid).
4) He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (Leave me alone with my delusions, when I was a kid they were the coolest thing besides G.I. Joe's and Transformers).

And finally:
5) BUCK ROGERS OF THE 25TH CENTURY!
Yes I know that makes me legally insane but I use to love the comics the RPG and the first season of the show.

To be honest I think them stating there will be no Pokemon MMO is a decision based in stupidity and short sightedness. I could easily imagine a pokemon mmo with various roles (trainer, breeder etc..etc..) people catching and trading and leagues and challenges.. heck they could even designate Blue, Green, Red servers for example with different pokemon available like the games had and then allow for cross server trading. Popular franchise that would have appealed to the family audience goes down the swannie due to short sightedness...

At any rate as for other sources from Childhood i'd like to have seen given the MMO treatment...
Transformers definitely...(would be unbelievably cool)
Masters of the Universe (detailed setting, plenty of conflcit and scope for character creation)
Zoids (especially if based on the Animes, Chaotic Century etc.. detailed setting, two factions, plenty of potental PVE and PVP content, evolving zoids, organoids, zoid loadout customisations)
Battletech (okay not specifically a childrens show though it was an animated show briefly, but that universe is again ripe for a faction based MMO, heaps of factions, clans, mercenary, gladiatorial combat, ground and mech basec conflict.. intrigue.. it would be glorious)
