Generally speaking most US servers are able to fight off the other side better once the RVR war advances to the capital city. Once there, the numerical advantage the opponent may have had is taken out of the equation due to the 48vs 48 instancing.

So its pointless to fight super zergs in open RVR because you can just stop them in the City Invasion where you can fight them on equal footing and allow player skill to determine the outcome.

I certainly salute those who sacked the King on each side and won't belittle their accomplishments, but I do know on the US servers the battles get very intense once the city invasions begin.

Considering that stage 2 of both the inevitable city and altdorf has been reached several times on the US server, it's not a matter that defending a city is too easy.

For the ones that don't know, the city siege has three stages:

Stage 1: the two factions bout in competitive 48 vs 48 PQs in which both killing and territorial control play a factor in victory, for 2 hours. This is where the city is "kinda" easy to defend. But the attacking realm went beyond that phase several times on the US servers (order did it on Volkmar just 2 days ago, for instance)

After if the attackers manage to defeat the defenders in Stage 1, thy can purge the city of the defenders and initiate stage 2. Since then the capital is considered taken.

Stage 2: The attackers have an hour to complete two very hard PQs. This phase is PvE and the defenders don't play a role anymore. If the attackers manage to complete both PQs they can proceed to the phase 3, if not, they get 2 more hours to farm the PQs and stack on further prizes (Warlord set gear and several other very very nice items), but after those 2 hours the city is handed back to it's original owners. Only completion in the first hours counts to proceed on stage 3.

Stage 3: The king fight proper.

personally I'm not sure if anyone on the US servers has ever reached the king fight yet, but i'm 100% sure that stage 2 has been reached many times, and as such the defenses have been breaked. It's just a matter of winning the PvE part after that.
