There is so much scope to this game that I think in time it will continue to run even if it is just in the context of a social experiment. Eve has something that no other MMORPG can hope to achieve, and that is an almost organic adaptation to what the player community wants.
So long as the player base remains vocal and is given the tools to drive the game in the direction they desire Eve will flourish. Games only stagnate when a players imagination is stifled by unimaginative add on’s that do not match the originality of the initial product.
Eve is different in that respect as each expansion is simply a refinement of the perfect sandbox, with players driving the rich tapestry of its story. You are constantly being made to learn and adapt to a changing landscape. Familiarity is not a word associated with Eve's universe and just as well as it is the precursor to boredom.
