Yeah, I noticed some similarities as well, particularly in the character models:

Ugh, just when i see something interesting the term EVEesque has to be thrown in. I dont need to see or play another Lord of the flies MMO, no matter how interesting it looks. Pass.

Let me guess, no consequence? *grin*

The trailer I saw looks like Tabula Rasa sort of? The one where they are fighting the big stalker, reminded me of Tabular Rasa. The sound of the laser guns going off had a better sound than in TR.

Looks like a WoW clone complete with the illusion of depth they call stances.

How thick are you?

Skill based
TR Style Combat
Sci Fi
You drop your gear
Deep and meaningful crafting

At least do a bit of reading before jumping to such stupid conclusions

...and STILL a wow clone :D

You can do all the superficial changes in the world, but if all you do is do quests that consist in collecting crap, and go thru a sequence of maps, and collect bit after bit of gear...

it's still
going to be
a WOW clone.

Accept it, kid.

Earthrise borrows more from EVE than it does from WoW. Try a better troll, scrub.

Everyone commenting this is an idiot. Considering the game isn't even in beta yet and they didn't give us a whole lot of specifics, you should all shut your mouthes before being quick to assume whats going on with the game.

Please, lets keep the commentary civil. Sarcasm and exchanging barbs is so overrated on the Internet. Otherwise what's the point of having an online discussion?

As for Earthrise, it seems to have paid homage to certain mechanics that are favorable for the majority of gamers. That can't be all bad of an idea. I welcome more Sci-Fi MMOs as I can see that somewhere down the line something revolutionary Sci-fi mechanic could actually make it's way to the more popular Fantasy genre MMOs. Then we'll see who's imitating who.

Definatly intresting - I am curious how it develops future. I hope the combat will be more reactive than it seems to be in these vids. A simple press attack und watch is not enoth.
