I can totally understand this kind of mentality. I may not be much of an RP-player, but I do form connections with my more frequently used characters. Guild Wars has been my MMO-style game of choice for over four years now. My first character was a warrior who stuck with me over a year until I took a break from the game to try WoW. When I came back, I wasn't feeling the class anymore so I retired him to my personal favorite outpost in Prophecies, Fisherman's Haven. It's interesting how that matches up with this One Shot. I always thought a quaint fishing hut would be the exact kind of retirement a career-soldier would want.
