The hatred torwards this game from the rabid WoW fanboys is appaling...
And it's impressive how any post about something WAR related eventually ends with a bunch of people flaming WAR and a bunch of comparisons with WoW.

You guys know that the game was always supposed to have PvE as well right?
And that this epic encounters were introduced as a "reward" for players by beating the other side? I don't know about you guys but i really prefer to have a big boss fight as a reward for beating the other side than just having a couple of loot boxes...

Oh, and about the fact that WAR tried to compete with WoW (that seems to have ticked off so many WoW fanboys that harassed the WAR community for many months in their sites...):
1 - Mbj clearly stated that their objective was to be the number 2 Western MMO in the market behind WoW (reaching at least the 500k subs was their proclaimed objective).
2 - The link to the article posted by someone, was a response of Mbj to Blizzard that was trash-talking WAR for sometime before that (including Kaplan criticizing some of WAR features).
3 - The Beatles-Led Zeppelin comparison was made EXACTLY to say that WAR wasn't supposed to compete with WoW in terms of mass appeal (like the Beatles) but be more of a niche-high quality MMO (RvR being its strong point) (like Led Zeppelin which obviously isn't the kind of music that everybody hears or can hear).

The game has some problems as it is obvious to those who play it (the keep and fortress sieges, the server/client issues and the cast lag are the biggest ones. They should also have stronger crafting, more animations and start releasing more content besides the obvious career balancing) but they are working to fix those problems.
They're only humans, and they had to cope with the lay offs in EA as well so it's obvious that they will take some time to fix the more glaring issues with the game. The game hasn't matured yet and it still is growing.

"You guys know that the game was always supposed to have PvE as well right? "

which wouldn't be bad if it wasn't so mind numblingly boring and uninspiring. Shit, PQs are awesome, well done and fun... except they require a ton of people, which pulls them out of the lake, and the rewards are total rubbish. So, who farms PQs? no one.

If you have unrewarding, but fun content (regular not-broken PQs), and rewarding but unfun content (Broken drop system in lairs and city invasions), what's the fucking point??

There are problems in the title. Problems that have been here since launch. Problems that should have been addressed long before release. Problems that need to be worked on quickly, and not at the expense of "new content" (moar brokend? no thx) and that has zero to do with WoW.

Difficulty and reward makes a game fun, take the difficulty out and you have boredom for all of your good players, and in step, if they stop playing the bad players have noone to look up to.

14 hours? I completed my Enhanced Pads of Dedication quest in 14 hours.
Good niche games have room to grow, and if your wow tourism leaves you with only World of Warcraft to reference your style of gameplay as a standard to, then Im sure we all feel sorry for you.

First capitol taken "without known exploits" after 6 months. lol

What a laugh, so the past six months have been used to stop the exploits, ;.. and the lag, ... and the clunky combat, ... and the non healing on targets, ... and the wrong blocking mechanisms and the lack of PVE capitol content ...

The best one was the guy above who cited War was in head to head competition with Wow.... referring to an article of .... October 2008, you know the time War still had those ... 800.000 players instead of the 300K at Xmas and the 200K now.

Everyone stating this is an mmorpg should see a doctor.

Mark Jacobs as the first patient.

Terrible game --- even Age of Conan had more substance.

A PvP game where your end goal is a PVE fight with a limited instanced audiance (because of the lag).

What more does one need to see the joke this game is.

And here comes bossy, displaying just one more time how ignorant and biased he is.

I'm sure everyone in the game is crying their eyes out because the ultimate endgame isn't just handed out to them on a silver dish like it happens in WoW.

But after all we already know that you troll every single warhammer-related post, and we all already know that what you write is nothing more than laughing matter.

The only one that should see a doctor is you, since it's pretty clear than Warhammer Online is your obsession.

So do half the tactics still not work as they are tool tipped? Do you still have to release your mouse button after you've clicked on a target in order for you to target a player? Is the knock back on cast times still insanely wrong? Am I still crap out of luck to counter Witch Elves if I wasn't there to get the haloween event cloak?

Is RvR still a bunch of terrible pvpers that couldn't fight their way out of a 5v5 that do nothing but sit around in 60 man zergs going after 1 person or 5 people? Actually do people still avoid fights to get their PVE on in musical keeps?

I watched the video and I found it boring as hell...come on,this is Karl Franz with Gal Maraz, the most powerful weapon in Warhammer universe and all we have is 24 peeps kiting the King. One of the core problem of WAR is that it's an uninspiring game.

Such a fight should have been EPIC.
1.Freeing the Son of Ymir in AoC is more EPIC and it's not even end game encounter.

2.Fighting Valakas in Lineage 2 is Epic

3.Fighting Illidan in WoW is EPIC

4 ALL Naxx Bosses are EPIC

16 hours PvE for this as end game fight is lame game design. That's not Led Zep,it's Oasis :(

What you are saying about PQs is an absolut outright LIE.
They tuned one PQ per chapter to be completed by 1 to 3 players (they are labeled as being "easy" PQs) you have the regular PQ, that takes 6-9 players (and if you have a skilled and balanced group of people yoiu can even make it with less) and a hard PQ to be done by more people. Also, they already fixed a LONG time ago the issue of the rewards of the PQs when they added the influence bars per chapter (just fill that bar by doing the PQs a bunch of times). The Influence rewards are actually very good. So that is another outright LIE about the game.
Oh, and let me tell you that many people do the PQs while leveling (obviously when you are rank 40 you are not going to be doing them over and over...).

As for the broken drop system in lairs and city invasions/keeps: They just announced TODAY a new token system! (Hell, it's even on the news here on Massively!!!). So there is another LIE.

As for some problems being there since launch, that's true but that doesn't means that they aren't working to fix them. There's just so much things that they can fix per patch and some problems (as the cast lag) took a really long time to fix because they were complex not because they were overlooked (and this is also going to be fixed in 1.2.1).

Also they are releasing improvements to keeps on 1.2.1.

There are problems that they couldn't predict in Beta. Simply because the Beta testers played the game as it was supposed to be played and people in a live environment did things that weren't done during Beta!
So don't give me crap that they aren't working to fix problems. Some problems take more time to fix. Much of the hate directed torwards this game does come from WoW fanboys that felt that WAR was the biggest threat to WoW.

And let me tell you: with all the myriad of problems that WAR still has, and even with some lack of content, it blows WoW out of the water when it comes to PvP. Don't be fooled about that.
WoW is a much more complete (and better overall) game but it pales in comparison to WAR in terms of PvP.

LOL.

"There are problems that they couldn't predict in Beta. Simply because the Beta testers played the game as it was supposed to be played and people in a live environment did things that weren't done during Beta!"

Of course it's the players fault.

"Bad players, bad. How dare you do new things in game. YOu should play how we tell you to."

Great job on the Capture. That's a hell of a lot of work both in PVP, PVE and general organization. Well done.

Never mind the trolls, they spawn at a higher rate whenever WoW's not equipped.

I guess the only teeth that must be destroyed are those of the trolls like you obsessed with Warhammer, that can't stand the fact that the game is alive and well, and that people are having fun on it.

Sorry mate, more luck next time.

I think a lot of you are forgetting the big point of an MMO. As long as it's fun for you, what more do you need? the problems the game has will be fixed in time, just sit back and enjoy the RVR (or unsubscribe for a while) while you wait. If you don't like the problem areas, don't participate in them.

Sitting here and whining about how WAR is crap because of some bad design decisions is stupid, and makes you sound spoiled, and overshadows the congratulations we should be giving the people who've downed the king.

Because at the end of the day, no matter what kind of grind it was, they do deserve some congratulations.

Congratulations are in order, not this unbelievable arguing. There is no question that what the guys (& gals?) did, is a huge accomplishment.

The 14h maraton included many wipes, the fight does not take 14 hours. I don't know how many times the guild have had the city contested and pounded on the emperor, but for me 14 hours on a boss sounds much only when you think that it was done in a marathon. I can't even count how many hours I've spent with some bosses in WoW in 4-6h intervals. Since they had 24 hours time to be in the city (so I've understood), clearly this 14h marathon was something they chose to do. And why not? The world first kill is at stake.

Also about the video: it shows only the last (4th) stage of the fight, where sadly the boss is tauntable and makes fight look a lot less epic, I agree. I hope they change emperor to be untauntable the whole fight. Gladly the new token system will help people be more prepared for this fight. I believe they had only one tank with full set of wards.
Here's the stages as I've understood them (for those who read this far and are interested):
You start fighting with emperor, then its griffon mount swoops in and takes them in to balcony where you first fight to dismount the emperor, then fight them both and finally enter this last stage which is on video.

It just boggles my mind that people who don't play this game anymore feel it is necessary to spew hate at this game. Seriously if you don't like it I am more than fine with that, but I hate having to read through all these posts from people who dont play talking about how much they hate this game. I don't go on other games message boards and post about how much I hate the game and wish it to die a slow and painful death, what makes you think that those of us who do play care that you don't like it? Seriously, we know the numbers are dropping, but the last thing this game really needs is more people talking about how much they hate it, great decrease subscription numbers so they never get enough funding to make the changes the game does need fast enough. Don't you all have anything better to do with your life, like play your own games and complain about all the stuff that is wrong with them?

I see where you all would dislike the game, I don't for a second believe the game is perfect, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the game a great deal and it sure won't cause me to quit and flame every thread I find just to show the world how mad I am about a game I don't play. Play it or don't, but please keep a safe distance away from us you parade rainers and just let us enjoy our game. Why do you waste so much time out of your life to flame a game that is "garbage" in your books?

Congrats on the take you guys, it took a lot of effort and coordination as well as plenty of pvp, and I am happy to see it is an Order defeat (my server is vastly Order heavy).

Well, maybe it's because the McMMO WoWtards are bored since WotLK was bubblegum garbage fluff and have nothing with which to fill their now empty lives, that they feel the need to slag on anything else others are enjoying.

Or hell, now that WoW is so brain-dead easy and dumbed down, they could actually be played and have Alt-Tab'd out to here to find something interesting to do...
