DC is the universe that non-comic readers love IMO. You can like the characters without ever knowing anything about them except the details that havn't changed in 80 years.

Marvel on the other hand has deep characters with a tighter continuity. So I'm very interested in a Marvel MMO, but I'm also not a blind fanboy. With Champions and DCUO, they're gonna have quite a hard time, especially because by the time Marvel Universe comes out people will have been in Champions and DCUO for probably a year. It will be hard to pull them out unless they come up with something very revolutionary. Champions has customization down, DCUO has what looks like it has good gameplay and PVP.

Where will Marvel fit?

Both DCUO & Champions are looking to be very "arcade" style action games, if Marvel Universe can tap into the depth of the Marvel creations & offer a more involved & deeper game, with proper involving storylines that set the scenes & also some non-combat depth & character development they might be able to fill a niche that currently doesn't exist in the MMO space.

Some actual RPG style storytelling added to a Comic book world & given a slightly more adult, mature (& that doesn't just mean bare skin) could be a real way to define themselves differently to the other caped crusader games, like actually gaming as the characters outside of the normal parameters, plot developments etc.
