Great write up and all, but when did they say this localized version is slated to release in North America?

The game won't come out until Q4 2009. So I'd say 3-4 months from now.

Besides the pretty graphics, does Aion do anything that I didn't already do for 4 years in WoW?

That's what I'm wondering too; the graphics are enough of an incentive for a lot of people, though.

Probably not, is WoW your first MMO? Because essentially they are all the same and Aion doesn't try to be any different.

Very good write-up, but confirms my suspicions that PvP is a] not-quite-optional and b] pretty much the selling point since PvE is going to be pedestrian at best or WAR at worst.

I can see it pulling in a decent crowd on those terms, but I won't be among them.

Do love the graphics and artistry though.
