Nevertheless, this sort of poaching is pretty underhanded. It would be as if Blizzard sold WoW to EA, then invited all the top raiding guilds to participate in the beta of their new game by browsing the WoW armory and looking for well equipped players/guilds.
It's not really . . . wrong . . . and certainly not illegal, but it still has a certain odor about it.
DC Universe Online should do their beta recruiting from the Champions Online forums :p

So if Cryptic can do that in CoH, why should we give a crap about breaching the EULA it in one of Cryptic's games...it would be gratifying to hear "who the fuck cares" from them when that situation arises.

Cryptic made, created, and supported City of 'X' for the longest time before selling it to NCSoft (essentially throwing them a bone).
NCSoft, as some know, is mostly a Korean MMO company as most of their customers are in Korea as well as the aim of most of their games (i.e. Aion).
City of 'X' is a North American made game to sell to North American users.
Champions Online is a North American made game to sell to North American users.
Cryptic, creaters of both games, is trying to get the fans of North American super hero games to purchase their new game.
So what if NCSoft is going to lose their North American City of 'X' playerbase. They've already shut down most of their NA offices and have layed off alot of NA employees while sustaining a heavy employee base in Korea (that right there, if anyone cares about the economy, would/should piss off alot of people).
So...Kudos to Cryptic and a big "screw off" to NCSoft!
