Account cancelled.

I dont know which dev made them shove their heads up their asses, but somehow Turbine has turned into Blizzard with all their untested broken bullshit

Uhh what is broken? There is a list of known issues but what MMO is bug free??? I've been playing all day and haven't had any issues at all.

I'm with Skypp.
Never been more PISSED OFF since I can remember.
I'm a Lore-Master.. and all my utility has been nerfed. So, erm, what's my class all about again?

Nothing gets to me more, than the fact that one or two individuals in a company can decide to make sweeping changes to the mechanic and abilities of a class that 100's of thousands of folk invest countless hours into, for what seems like nothing more than the sake of change itself, and effectively ruin the players fun/experience.

F*ck You Turbine.

in a heartbeat, after playing with the Book7 LM changes for the day.

I hate this industry sometimes. /thebird

I'm sure the game will become a much better place without you and Skypp. You probably didn't feel at home within such a mature community anyway, so it's all for the best.

Come on Book 7, can't wait! :)

I understand your frustrations Amana, but you're basically saying you're giving up playing after experiencing an evening of play with the new changes?

Yes, it can be frustrating when things like this change. I remember being pissed off with the earlier changes to the way wounds worked and the combat rebalance. But I stuck with it and have had a lot of fun now I realise how the game has changed.

I'm not saying "L2P noob." I'm merely suggesting that you've experienced some changes you don't like and rather than try to work with them, you're throwing the baby out with the bath water by cancelling your subscription.

Cheers Iokthemonkey, and you're most likely correct.
But as you know, the bitter taste lingers for a while when you're heavily invested in a character or title.

Your comment is most certainly welcomed and appreciated, but I'm guessing I'll have to give myself some time to cool off before being drawn back of my own accord.

Unsubbing and uninstalling was extremely cathartic.. =)

As I say, I understand your anger. It IS annoying when devs make sweeping changes. But you have to consider if the changes are something you can live with and adapt to or if they're so drastic that you no longer feel able to continue.

I've yet to see what's happened to my Champion in LOTRO (being a European player, we haven't got Book 7 yet) but I'm sure I'll adapt and I'll certainly keep with it, as I have a Lifetime Subscription. And who's to say that in near future the devs won't redress the balance?

As always, it's difficult to argue with your logic, as it's sageworthy on paper.
But logic and emotion don't tend to blend to well inside my particular head. =p

Let me put it another way:

There's no doubt that I'll return for another look at some stage in the near future. It's not 'the game' I'm upset with - it's the fact that sweeping changes are rarely made that include accompanying reason (written) on behalf of the developer.

Sincerely, I would be half as upset if the changes (to my class in particular) were announced with an explanatory aside.
I can't help but believe they aren't thoroughly tested and nor are they made for reasons that consider the majority of the players for whom the changes affect.

Having worked in the industry for many years now, I have time and time again witnessed an ego in action that completely destroys 'a good thing', and there's nothing anybody within the organisation can do about it because of the position held by the main antagonist - despite everybody agreeing that it's perhaps not in the best interest of the players (paying customers).

The only real way I have of protesting, is with my wallet.
No amount of effort spent on forums et al will make a discernible difference; however one less sub can, as has been witnessed in so many titles from our MMO universe over the past few months, speak volumes.

I believe it's important to clarify that, contrary to what Amana stated (while so gently calling me a moron), Book 7 is only "already here" if you play in one the North-American servers.

However, as many of us know, that constitutes only a part of the LOTRO playerbase. One which, unfortunately, has access to the new content first. Oh well, the rest of us will have to patiently wait a little longer (another week possibly), it's certainly not the end of the world.

So, as an European LOTRO player I will say it once more and with even more excitement: "Come on Book 7, can't wait (for you to reach MY server)!"
