I think the game will definately appeal to the more fps sci-fi mmo crowd, but with eve's recent retooling of the new player experience and all the new stuff thats going on as well as other space MMO's like Star Trek online, "Infinity quest for earth" which looks gorgeous btw, as well as several other recently announced mmo's I will be hard pressed to even buy the game. Since eve's success and niche of the space sci-fi mmo market with all these games comming out trying to cash in on its success, its gonna be an over saturation of the market type for these games. I think people will stick to brand name licensed games, and unless Jumpgate releases a free trial during launch i doubt people will go out and buy it, there just has to be something enticing about the game and having the person experience it themselves to garner interest. Sure there will be beta but not everyone will get in, so a free trial is their best bet I think.
