Question, do people still play this game? I really want to try it, but are there enough players?

Tyranor: Yep, they had/have free server transfers so now a good 12 or so servers are buzzing atm. SWG is in a better state (on the right servers) now than it has been in a very long time.

Which servers would they be?

I loved SWG and if there's a free trial to be had, I might give it a shot...

Tyranor: SWG still has its problems, but it's in much better shape than it used to be. Check out Starsider. Last time I played, it was pretty busy.

I missed your Starsider comment, Gabe. If I get the trial copy I'll keep that in mind...!

Reading this post brought one question to my mind. Now, granted this is my first post on Massively. However, if you cannot log into a game more than once every 3 months, why do you play it?

The point of that change Mogloth is not to benefit the player that has not logged in but the community that is still playing. (If I understand your question).

I have been very pleasantly surprised returning to SWG. With the active servers and all the changes (many of which have mitigated a lot of the damage wrought by the NGE) the game has compelled me to drop my other game accounts and activate my few accounts in SWG. I have been having a lot of fun and find that I have found "home" again. I recommend giving SWG another shot really.

In the long run, the 90-day log in timer is going to hurt more than it will help. Now there is risk to living in a player city.

I don't know if it's changed since I used to play (pre-Everybody's A Jedi Feck Up) but it was a pain when you'd visit a city and find the vendors empty and nobody around in the cantinas, etc.
