Wasn't the point of Free Realms to be you know uh "Free"? Silly me, I forgot this is $OE we're talking about here.

There are two forms of membership, paid-for and free. This is merely what the paid membership offers someone.

Yes... and no. Like virtually every free to play game, they allow you access to some of the game, and charge you for the extras. It is a business, afterall. It has to make money.

Yeah, "Free Realms" doesn't sound any more "free" than a skillion other F2P games now.

So basically you can play gimped or you can pay a subscription.

Free Realms can't come fast enough...at least until JGE comes out, although for $4.99 a month I wouldn't mind subscribing to JGE and Free Realms at the same time.

JGE? Which one is that?

I don't mind. If Free Realms is good enough to spend time on, it will be good enough to spend $5 on.

On the Jobs page, they list the following jobs as being among the 5 exclusives: Archer, Medic, Ninja and Weaponsmith. What's a bit confusing is that on the page that Massively links to, they say Wizard is one of the five, but on the Jobs page, Wizard is listed as free. Since we know there are five, and they listed those four, I'm going to presume Wizard is the 5th one, and they just made a mistake on the Jobs page.

Anyway, the interesting thing here is that Archer, Medic, Ninja and Wizard are all combat-related roles, and Weaponsmith is a crafter to help combat. So, basically what they're saying is that if you are playing Free Realms for party-based PVE... you have to pay. Everyone else who's not interested in that... gets to play for Free.

I should amend that a bit... it came off as being more of a blanket statement than I meant. First off, there are combat-related jobs that you don't have to pay for, and there are other reasons to pay than just those five jobs.

But... I still stand by my estimation that it seems that the combat part of the game seems to be the main focus of the paid game. I don't see any of the non-combat jobs (and there are a LOT of them) needing a paid subscription. It's also especially curious that the "healer class" requires a paid subscription, yes ?

I'd just like to point out that the leaderboards do not work correctly. Look at your scores listed on the website, now replay those games, you can probably easily beat what is listed on the website as it is about 2+ weeks outdated.
