Then have separate servers for pc and console users. It's better that way. In Final Fantasy XI, there's a power gap because PC players can use third-party mods, and have played the game longer due to release dates like this.

It's better that than not shipping the game to console at all. The longer you delay the release the more likely it's vaporware, like age of conan, and huxley. Did huxley ever release at all, by the way?

Honestly, thank god. I'm glad they're making a PC specific interface, because hybrid interfaces or ports of console interfaces to PC games are almost universally awful. I'd rather they delay it a bit and get it right than ship something that's crap.

This is depressing, this was going to be the game I could finally play with my fiance. She hates using a mouse, in fact she uses a touchpad on a laptop or no pc at all, but she loves the console controller, and I prefer the mouse/keyboard.

Please tell me I can still use an xbox controller on a PC so we can play together (even just as an option).

Sure, it may be no surprise that this has happened, but yes *again* this is a 180 of all the dev/publisher hype from the past year.

"Some time in the future" means it's on the back-burner, I'm betting. I mean whilst I'm glad the UI has gone pro-PC, Roper's completely going against all the marketing and promotional information given to-date.

AoC/Funcom don't even talk about their console version anymore, and in fact they dodge the question altogether if asked - not surprising for a title and company that outright lied about their features, yes, but now I see Roper has put himself in the same league.
Blaming others ("I just work on the game") hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah omg did he actually *say* that???

His title is:
Design Director and Executive Producer. So.. erm.. exec producer doesn't get a say in release formats?

Leopards don't change their spots.
Roper is, always was, and always shall be, an asshat.

I h.a.t.e. him with a passion, and he'll be the nail in the coffin for this game as it becomes Flagshipped.
/sigh

I totally agree. He/flagship was easily the biggest failure in the MMO industry. I wonder what a MMO made by him, Godager and Garriot would be like...

Uh yah the edge one is even more frightening.

I don't get it you act like the guy doesn't get a second chance. Everyone makes mistakes. Geez let the game release then if it sucks throw him to the wolves.

Add McQuaid in there and you would have a egoplosion heard around the world.

Sucks about the hold back but is anyone truly surprised? Could just add mouse support for a 360 version oh wait Microsoft won't allow that.

As far the PC UI, YAY we are going to get a tired old school MMO UI. Instead of something new exciting and simplistic. YAY! Seriously this is what everyone wants? Yet scream on message boards for innovation.

Cryptic needs to take the blizzard approach and not the "freakout deadline is coming need to release approach." It's done when it's done is what I would prefer to hear.
