Why have a representative from Second Life? It's not a GAME, it's a virtual world.

I think it is interesting they chose those games. Why not choose the huge one, WoW? Expecially when CoH and CoV are listed as separate games... I don't think technically you can buy them separately anymore.

Then Lineage I and II as separate games? In this case, yea, I can see how they are and how you can evaluate players who stick around their games forever vs. the ones who jump to the next popular thing... but with all the other choices out there?

It seems that a study should definitely include WoW followed closely by smaller subscriber games like EQ2, LOTR, WAR, CoX, Lineage, etc... Plus it wouldn't hurt to include at least one Asian Free MMO.

CoH and CoV may be packaged together these days, but the communities are very different beasts. Some CoV players tend to have the "Hey, I'm evil aren't I?" excuse for acting like a complete jackass, whereas most CoH players tend to be cooperative and helpful. Thus, a researcher might look at random sampling of broadcast chat messages and decide the "two games" are worth studying as seperate entities.

And here kiddies is your legacy of idiot academics wasting our tax dollars on craptacular made up programs.

How about a program to guage finger pressure on the power switch after you have scratched your forehead trying to figure ways to steal our money?

Nothing like creating some ate the hell up niche program and creating your own job security on our money.

Here is an idea....why dont these asshat PHD's and the like figure a way to cure some disease with our money or make the world a better place? Better yet they can try to enter the regular workers market and do these idiot programs on their time and money.
