Turbine has just announced a brand new public test server for Lord of the Rings Online called Bullroarer. This test server will allow plays to experience content before it is ready to go live, allowing the players to help test the content and give their feedback. You will need to download Bullroarer separately from the live game client, and you must have an active LotRO account.
What's even more exciting about this announcement is the fact that the newest content update, Book 7, is live on Bullroarer right now for players to explore! Since this is a test server, it will incorporate a copy from a live server. Right now that first server is Elendilmir, but anyone is invited to create a character and experience the new content. Turbine says they will soon enable the Eyes and Guard Inn in-game to allow anyone to boost their characters up to max level and experience everything. Check out the current Book 7 patch notes (that are subject to change before going live) and count on Massively for much more coverage of Book 7 as it nears live release.

The quest guide is optional. Simply turn it off if you don't want to use it, like me. =)
Self Rez won't affect me at all because I doubt I'll ever have a need for it.
I don't have a problem with making the game easier to level for new players. It means less grinding for the casual player base.

Dear Lord that is one great patch, just when I was beginning to worry about Turbine going lax on the content...
I can see many fans of the game uproaring about the changes to make it easier, but apart from the self res thing which doesn't sit too well with me, I think they're all great.
Can't wait ^^

Look at the restrictions on the self-rez, its really not that bad. Especially if you die near a mob, you only rez with ~20% morale/power, so theres a good chance you are going to a rez circle anyway :P I see it as mostly being used if you die running for your life from a mob. I like the feature. :)

I can handle some of the nerfs to the classes, for example I'm a hunter and they are nerfing Moria level damage for Moria content.
My complaint is that they are nerfing the captain's pre-moria ability because they're too lazy to find a true work around for a moria situation. I hope that gets over turned, though I'm cynical due to my experience with devs in other games.

horrible changes are in that patch. the captains IHW 100% to 50% after 2+ years. lowering weapon dps, noncurable wounds in the moors. ect...

Not a fan of the EZ mode add ons (it's a pretty easy MMO as it is), but other than that it's a much welcomed patch.

Generally the LOTRO quest descriptions DO provide the info you need without requiring arrows/HUD elements, however, there are a few that will reference an isolated landmark and - if you haven't found that spot yet - it can leave you scratching your head. So having a few pointers is a welcome addition.

Quest tracking is the reason I'm resubbing when it hits. Even as a Captain, that's enough motivation for me to return. Those bullshit quest directions ("Go... East") drove me crazy, and everyone was just Alt-Tabbing over to guides anyway.
I've been in the game since the start of beta and that alone was what bothered me the most.

I just hope it's not a GPS type thing, that would make it too easy and more like chores to get done, but we can turn it off I'm sure so fine
As long as the quest giver doesn't say something like...
"just fallow your magic GPS ring Frodo, and you'll make it to mordor in about 5 minutes. You can even set it to avoid orcs!" :)
You know what I'm sayin people?

I don't get the Quest Guide thing, we can always go to a wiki to find things we just can't find after 1 week of trying.
But I bet the quest tracker thing has more to do with organizing, I'm guessing.
One thing I would like would be to know for sure were to get the quest to tell someone else & a way to show people all the quests you have.
