'D & D:The Forgotten Realms Online' would be a WoW killer, or at least its strongest rival, if it ever happens. And also with mounts, a persistent world, enemies like the Red Wizards of Thay and The Underdark awaiting the players, I'd be there applying for the Alpha like a shot.

It's called LOTRO.
And it's better.

DDO players are the biggest assholes I've ever come across in all of my gaming years.
I'm *glad* DDO is a poor cousin to Middle Earth. And I'm equally glad that all the inane, rabid, stat-munching, noob-calling elitist jerks that play it are locked away there out of harm's way as well.

LOTR, is developing nicely, especially since they got around the five Wizards problem with the rune-keeper.

Still pining for the Forgotten Realms though, a world that has been in development from the 60's. :)

Forgotten Realms would indeed give WoW a run for its money, but only if they use 4th Edition rules, and only if they let Blizzard develop it instead of Turbine.
