Today's the big day, Darkfall fans! The 25th of February has arrived and Darkfall should be fully online sometime this afternoon/evening as Aventurine flips the switch on their servers!
This launch hasn't passed without problems though. First came the online pre-order page becoming swamped with traffic, leading to multiple credit card charges, people who never received their activation codes, and people who got codes but weren't even charged for the game. If you have had a problem with your pre-order, and wish to check the status of your account, you can always do so on the account management page. Be warned -- account management is under extreme stress from all the traffic and has been mostly down.
Today, the heavily burdened website's forums have been up and down, with timeouts occurring as players pile in to see what the news is on the servers. Currently, as of the writing of this post, the servers are still down and unresponsive.
Sales of Darkfall will also resume today, as Aventurine plans to start selling the game early in the evening, around the time the servers go live. No exact time has been given yet, but we'll keep our eye on the forums for any specifics given by the development team.

Is it more or does the darkfall online website look like a very basic fansite more than a proffesional site to support the launch of an MMO. Sorry to be critical but it is pretty terrible. Finding the where to buy is not particularly clear even when its working without the huge load issues.
Brave of a small company to launch an MMO and I am sure its a very good game if the developers are actually lovers of MMO too, However one wonders if such a small company can really support an MMO. Surely an MO would be a more accurate description, not that it matters as judging by the challenge trying to get in and try it then surely it must be loaded up and sold out and profitable as hell.
My respects for the business sense if not for the quality of the site/launch. Hopefully someone with more resources will come and buy them out quickly so we can all see what the fuss is about and try it for ourselves.
I do have a concern that maybe someone can put to rest. If its this bad trying to get through the subscription issues and play it are the servers so overloaded that they are too laggy to play once your in? I would rather find out before spending more time waiting for a shot so if anyone knows you may save me some time and money or put my mind at rest on this point for which I would be greatful.
