God the graphics on this game look so bad. SOE needs to get a better art team cause how can a game launched in 2003 look worse than ones launched in 2003 and worse than mmorpgs launched recently that have lesser engines. The character models for one thing are ugly and so is the armour and well everything tbh.

Yeah, I have to admit when I played the armour was pretty ordinary, especially for those who had to wear cloth or leather. Marketplace and crafting though were top notch, so as a tailor I actually did darned well making the stuff. Like, seriously darned well to the tune of 10p a day.

If SOE actually allowed 'muters (yeah, I was stupid enough to choose to become one :S) to make something interesting and valuable like dye... and also allowed those classes who had to wear cloth to have heavier armour as an appearance item... well it might not have been so bad.

The graphics are ok though, so I guess I difer to you there, definatly better than weak games like WoW and Leisure Suite Larry II but no-where near the standard of LoTRO.

I am pleased that Lavastorm is being rejigged, it was one area I actually didn't like, Nek being the other. Spooky and slightly creepy in a stalker sort of way.

Sigh. I miss the crafting and the Market in EQ2 they were supurb and leave other games for dead. If anything ever brings me back as a player it will be these two things.

I have finally given up on EQ2 after playing on-and-off since launch due to its abandonment of small group (2-4 player) content. New content is designed for soloers or full (6 player) groups (or raids) leaving smaller groups with nowhere fresh to explore. This was made very clear with the latest expansion, Shadows of Odyssey.

I have since moved to Vanguard and am amazed at how far it has come since launch. The graphics are top-notch (if your machine can handle it) and crafting is more challenging -- and satisfying -- than it is in EQ2. I do not know about the market for crafted goods but will find out soon as I level-up my little army of crafters. The big plus, for me, is that there is *plenty* of small group content. :-)

ps. EQ2 launched in 2004, btw, the same year as WoW.

I see EQ2 has yet to crawl out of the Uncanny Valley.
