looking forward to this game. i like the fact that a handful of the games coming out this year are breaking the theme park mold and moving to more sandboxish skill based games. i think its something that has really been lost in the last few years as WoW has ruled the market.

This is going to be interesting. I like sandboxes and this one (the first in a very long time) looks to be promising.

Hi Guys,

i'm the head director that wrote and translated the interview. I hope you here at massively enjoy it. I can say nothing about fallen earth because nda is nda, but i can say that if you loved swg pre-cu, you will love it

First thank you Gamesource for the translate. Birra libera agli italiani !!

Now how can they say this game is for everyone, when it is clearly not?

Why would you want to craft items when some 12 year old snot nose kid is just about to gank the hell out of you and take it? What is stopping a guild from taking over entire towns and slaughtering everyone?

You will have to forgive me if I do not believe the PvE will be balanced with the PvP.

When developers say this what they mean to say, is we will have almost no PvE so we can have this kick ass PvP system.

And then we all sit back and watch the game die.
I hope I'm wrong, but the last couple of years have proved that games that center on PvP leave PvE as a afterthought. Who knows maybe this will be the one to break the mold. But I think I'll wait until the reviews come out.

I tried the beta a bit and i think i can say(without violating nda) that pve is surely not inferior to pvp. Maybe it's the opposite. i played for some time and i tought it was too much a theme park game. then i asked how it was later and they explained me about pvp. i haven't tried pvp but surely the pve is good. I never liked pve at all, well usually i hate it but here is funny. quests are enough to be called "various"(maybe if they are not as they will be in the perfect mmo, but surely better than usual). i was lamenting to tiggs that it looked too much pve oriented and we discussed a lot about it. probably they won't have market because they are "too balanced". they have a lot of quests and pve, exploration, pvp, economy, crafting and management. the problem is that, well you won't play it for pvp because there are better pvp games, you won't play it for pve because it's lot different than usual and pve fans want a wow-clone with lot of farm. you won't play it for sandbox contents because there are some limits(this is a big supposition, later in the game it can be more free and dinamic) because there are earthrise and mortal online up to come. you won't play it for the story because there is fallout and stuff like that, lot easier and casual.
is it complete? yes, surely more than the big part of mmos. is it a good game to buy? for sure, it has everything. will it be played? sadly, i think not because they are not fit to the market. they are just too good to sell. i hope i'm wrong and if they can advertise their real qualities and attract swg and ryzom lovers, they will start growing and spreading and i wish them all the best, but they are at risk.
