The most highly anticipated game right now is Darkfall Online, the infamous PvP loot fest that's been in development for over seven years. Love it or hate it, it's making news pages sizzle with all of the hype surrounding it, as well as the question of if the game can live up to all of said hype.
But today, we want to know if you're going to be grabbing the game or not. The world of Agon is going to need warm bodies in it to make the gameplay sell, just like EVE Online needs pilots in space to make everything work properly. Are you pre-ordering it maybe? Or are you adopting a " wait and see" attitude when it comes to putting money down on a brand new game. Or, are you just going to hope that they have a copy for you when the game comes out?
Put your thoughts into the comment box below and the post button will chew up your words and spit them out onto our page for all of the world to view. Afterwards, we urge you to celebrate by chopping off a few ork heads and invading elven territory.

If they want me to, they need to announce some sort of NORTH AMERICAN release plans. Why are they so mum about this?

Seems like a lot more people are taking a "wait and see" approach with MMOs after being burned by prior releases. I will probably be doing the same thing. Normally, I could wait until launch day, bugs and lag and all. Now? After AoC and WAR (somewhat) I'm definitely not getting my hopes up for these games anymore.
As for Darkfall... definite pass. Look outdated and I can take out my rage on the newly released Street Fighter 4 or any other FPS game out there. PvP and MMOs still have a ways to go IMO.

No interest whatsoever.
I don't like sandboxes, I don't like unrestricted PvP, and I especially don't like the kind of community that develops in such an atmosphere or the kinds of gamers that are attracted to it.

No way. Full loot PvP just isn't my cup of tea.

The sociologist in me is noting that the majority of the folks in these few pages who are heading for Darkfall appear to be frequent YouTube posters:

Going to pass. I had a bad enough time in the Age of Conan beta when they turned everything into unrestricted PvP. You couldn't walk two feet outside of the gates without getting mobbed in a retarded gank-fest. I have little interest in living in the time when random bandits ruled the world, especially when they can't spell correctly and/or replace letters with symbols and numbers.

Any game where you have your fun at the expense of other players is not for me.

Nope, wont waste my time. Though i have been following it the last few months the game simply isnt finished, actually it's barely running on sparse content regardless of what you hear from the fanbois and doomsayers alike.
The good is consequence, at least an attempt is being made to include it. The "rogue" aspect needs to be removed, though i wont be playing this title this "feature" will simply cause more griefing, let the folks playing decide.
Reading some of the response blogs above one can tell the type of demographic that will be playing this title, this is unfortunate as i feel it will pollute the community with bad press. Calling folks "pussies" and the like is just not needed, sure flex that pvp muscle and smack talk, but leave the vulgar namecalling to the demographic that are short brain cells and cant tie their own shoes.

After reading through these comments it's saddening to see the general outlook of the PvP community in MMORPGs.
Not all of us are face-drooling, socially inept people who merely play in PvP to unleash some sort of vented rage in a fury of poorly spelled words. Some of us actually do enjoy PvP games for their risk and competition.
However I do think that a lot of those sterotypical PvP players will find their way into darkfall simply because of how easy it will be to grief (grief, not PvP. It doesn't matter if someone ganks you but running in front of your attack to make you flagged is lame)
That being said unless darkfall can turn a 180 from what it seems to be looking like right now I may not even bother. All I know is they better have a trial if they want to win over any skeptics. Just like any other hyped game you can not trust the community on this one, I'm sorry. Remember Dark and Light? We had people hailing that as one of the best games ever made before it came out. Even Age of Conan was the same way.

I was thinking about buying DF. I'm a sucker for new MMOs. But seeing as how I can't even read the official forum because my IP is 'banned' makes it a little difficult to convince myself to buy the game. I've never even been on the DF forum and my IP is banned? Crikey!

Before WAR came out, I was convinced that it would fail and the reason that it would fail was that its rabid fanboys were insufferable assholes who would drive everyone else off until the subscription numbers were too low to sustain life.
(I think I'm on track to be correct, too)
But.. let me tell you.. I would MARRY the average WAR fanboy before I would play an MMO with the average Darkfall fanboy.

What I've learned from buying mmos is to never to buy at launch. You'll get burned out easily with all the bugs/glitches/server instabilty. Though Warhammer has been the a smooth launch overall (seriously, compare wow's launch and war you'll have to agree.) I am getting bored with the content until that big patch update comes out to get to the forts quicker (release it soon, damn you!).
