I like Wizard 101, but it's a F2P game to with a lower-than-typical subscription cost. 1 million accounts is impressive just from the standpoint of them getting the game out there, and people hearing of it, but I doubt their revenue per user rivals that of the big subscription games.

I disagree that it's a F2P game. That being said, it's hybrid revenue model is pretty well done. Non-expiring free trial in limited zones, cash shop for casual players who want to unlock a zone at a time for a nominal fee or a subscription for those who play more often and/or lock in a family rate.

Even if only 1/4 of the accounts are paid via subscription at the family rate, that's still 250k accounts @ $6.95/month, which is over 1.7million/month in subscriptions. Not too shabby for a kids title that also appeals strongly to many of the adults who've tried it. I'd love to see some official numbers for them. Since KingsIsle Entertainment is a corporation, we probably will at some point in the near future.

My only concern for KingsIsle and Wizard101 is that they're going to have to revisit their revenue model based on both Fusion Fall's and Free Realms' very, very aggressive pricing structures.
