Nice list but I would have thought that Pokémon would have been on it. That game would print money faster than the Wii and DS combined.

3D world, tournaments, become a gym leader, all the Pokémon islands in one online persistent world. Let’s not forget all the Pokémon that you could catch to battle, breed, and talent shows.

I am surprised that Nintendo has not done this already. I know they want to milk it for all its worth but I think it would be better to do it while it still popular.

(I mean even Word 2007 knows to add the accent to the e in Pokémon. How could it fail?)

Lol, that'd be an interesting concept -- A Pokemon MMORPG...

Personally, I actually like the games. I find them quite entertaining. Sure, I got over the TV series years ago but the games are actually enjoyable.

An MMO that emulates everything in the handheld games, would to me, work. I wouldn't disregard it being made in the 2D graphics of the original games (or in similar graphics of the NDS games) because I honestly can't imagine a 3D version of Pokemon (would be rather interesting seeing a WoW-like turn-based game though TBH).

You know, there was a Shadowrun MMO in production once. Someone in Microsoft requested a proof of concept demo and then Bungee got wind of it and the C&D came pretty soon after that. I think it even got mentioned in a pod-cast about the (pretty awful) Shadowrun FPS.

The site was at http://shadowrunmmo.com/ and still is, for now. All the content is gone, but no doubt still remains in one of the cache websites...

That would be Shadowrun, sir.

You also have things like Trolls with massive hammers and Bazookas as well. ;)

It's actually from the Shadowrun FPS. You can still get it on PC and 360. It's more fun than it gets credit for.

A Shadowrun MMO'd be nice. A Harry Potter MMO not so much. Licensed games suck enough as it is, can you imagine the vortex of garbage a licensed MMO'd be?

If a Shadowrun MMO and TOR both came out, I could die a happy man (die at my computer of thirst or starvation, most likely, or from being murderized by wife n' kids).

Shadowrun is TEH AWSUM. Elves with guns and katanas, troll techies, dwarven riggers, guys in trenchcoats casting fireballs and witch doctors siccing giant spirits on cybered up razorboys.

Mechwarrior mmporg with full mech customization, paint job, weapons and pods. More than good vs evil though, clan vs clan vs corporatoin vs machine civilization (the common enemy for looting etc etc) all over lots of home worlds. Then for certain instances out your mech and get into the infantry gear. With hopefullly not a bloody elf, goblin, spell or sword in sight.

(If only i won the euro lottery rollover i would commision this tommorow)

Exactly what I was thinking. Some sort of MMO done in the battletech universe that would allow for all the different factions to be represented would be incredible.

What we need is a useless online petitition to microsoft to use there millions on making it.

I think it would take a huge company to pull this one out of the bag, microsoft could pull it out of the bag maybe. they did excellent stuff with flight simulator

My thoughts are somethin that allows for tech and human advancements.
What id love to see is one based on Deus Ex universe and even Mechwarrior. In each you have your factions, mounts or possibilit for mounts as well as human or even cybernectic advancements to consider.

Disgaea, Transformers, Harry Potter? I mean really, when it comes to IP's and MMO's familiarity and success don't go hand in hand. Good MMO's typically are driven by their ability to expand after launch, something that these IP's would limit.

Also, I can name about 5 other IP's more worthy of an MMO than these. GI Joe, Warhammer 40k, Highlander, Dune, and the almighty Forgotten Realms. Though Weird West(Firefly, Cowboy Beebop, Trigun) and Shadowrun would definitely be interesting.

Warhammer 40k MMO would suck. Here's why:

http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2007/03/05/

And my friends, who LOVE 40k, pretty much agree to be true to the material, the above described problem is necessary. So, no, 40k would not make a good MMO.
