No I don't think they should follow WoW's foot steps. One of the things I like in WAR is that I have to actually think about my gear, stats and gameplay. Lets now dumb it down or make it easy.

It's not a matter of dumbing the game down and making it easier, it's a matter of making it more fair.

DPS can use the same gear they get when grouping with others for when they later do some soloing/questing.
So why should a healer class be forced to get an entire extra set of gear to feel the least bit viable when soloing/questing in between his healing duties with different groups? Anyone who has ever tried to kill a mob in healing gear know what i mean, its a very very slow and tedious process.

While improved itemization is a good thing, I agree with Rzar for the most part. WoW has gone a bit too far with their hybrid classes.

This is funny. Listening to my brother qq over his warrior because the blasted druids are doing his job better than he can (gear and skill being equal) his take on hybrids is they are to good at what they should be doing, and that is simply filling gaps when needed not making other classes worthless, which they currently do.

I think Blizzard try to go with there classes at a complete other way. they not like how talent trees now effect your roll in the game and so on. :)

I rolled up a Zealot because I wanted to heal. I didn't want to try and dps. WAR has clearly defines roles for a reason. Just because WoW does something and it worls for them doesn't mean it will be any good for WAR.

WAR can't learn crap from WoW about hybrid classes, because WoW does hybrid classes all wrong - and this is coming from a Druid, so bear with me. No pun intended.

Hybrid classes should not completely replace pure classes. Jack of all trades, master of none. That's what a hybrid class should be. A bear druid or prot pally should not be able to tank as well as a prot warrior. A resto druid or holy pally should not be able to heal as well as a holy priest - which, mind you, they currently can and do.

Hybrids should exist for people who want to be able to passably do a little of everything, but not excel at any particular one unless they're damn good players in damn good gear.

WAR has, basically, the right idea. WoW, on the other hand, does not. I'm a resto druid, and it even pisses -me- off that I can outheal a holy priest with relative ease.

Blizz has just been homogenizing classes left and right. There's no individuality anymore. Paladins used to be the kings of AoE tanking, Warriors used to be kings of single-target tanking. Now there's hardly a difference between the two. That, in my opinion, needs to stop. Making it so that hybrid classes didn't utterly replace pure ones as they now do would be a step in the right direction.

I'm going to disagree with you. WOW was changed for a reason. Too many people QQing that they couldn't find a tank or they need a healers for instances. This has become much less of a problem now.
In WAR as a RP I loved healing but if no one was on or I couldn't find a group doing a PQ I would end up just sitting and waiting for scenarios. Besides didn't Mythic say they didn't want healbots, yet with the gear they are sending another message. If you want to heal and have the best healing gear to do that, your dps is a joke, grats, you are a healbot.

I would actually call every class being able to do the same thing balance, not the other way around. Do I still think warriors and priests should be on top? Yes, I do, I also am STRONGLY opposed to the prot warriors insane pvp dominance.

Sometimes total balance isn't what you want to strive for.

Changes in stats...maybe.

Changes in classes. Leave Wars classes alone. That game is WAYYYYYYYYY more balanced then WoW will EVER be.

The writer is afraid of the social aspect that happened in wow and you can see the same signs in War already. Hybrid classes will be pushed to being healbots with the current gearing as you can only do one or the other. (or so he says, I dont play a hybrid in war)

Before you say "Reroll DPS ffs" and join the herd, why are the hybrid classes even given the choice to do something different then? Even the PR of War was that healing classes in this game will be different. They will not be pushed to healbots unless they want to.

I do agree that if you're sole healer in wb and you still DPS you're not doing what you're supposed to. OTOH as I played a hybrid in WoW and struggled there against common prejudice tanking and spankin, there were times I didnt want to heal at all being afraid that I suddenly find myself pushed in to the healbot corner again. Thankfully my guild was understanding and they even found that hybrid can hold a purpose in raids and I even healed sometimes..;)

Short question.

Can I make with ONE character a full TANK, a full HEALER and a full DPS class in WAR ?

The answer is no. While in Wow I have Paladins or Druids who can do just this, just by resetting the 71 step talent settings. No need to level yet another avatar.

Discussion closed.

Back to playing the original.

Why don't you go back to the official WoW forums.
I'm sure you'll find a few people there that will agree with the crap you keep spouting.

I like the having the classes the way they are in WAR. They have different takes on each role across the races for each side, and then minor differences in the builds.
I agree with the above responses that WoWs classes have become very generic... I like the idea that each career supplies a specific sort of playstyle. If you find that you don't like how your Archmage heals, roll a Rune Priest or a Warrior Priest. Or whatever.
I like the idea that your choice of career actually has some sort of meaning is all I'm trying to say.

I like the WoW approach to hybrids in PvE where classes and specs overlap but still retain some unique flavor and playstyles. In a PvP game though I think it's important to have clearly defined classes similar to many FPS ala TF, SD, TF2, BF, etc...
