Upon seeing these latest Star Trek Online screens, it was like getting smacked in the face with the broadside of a bat'leth -- and we mean that in the best of ways. Our Star Trek sensibilities have been happily inundated by these screenshots. Our favorite is probably this majestic shot of a federation ship, which we're going to guess is a nebula-class.
At this point we're just waiting for the next in-game video to come out, because as great as everything looks frozen in time, what it really comes down to is how everything comes together in motion. This is especially true of the way ships and avatars move about the game space, both figurative and literally. Oh, and as a final note to Cryptic -- can we see some riveting bat'leth vs lirpa action in that next video? We'd be eternally grateful for it.

Nebula starships have galaxy-class like lines. Oval saucer, inverted nacelle struts and a giant platform above the rear of the saucer.
If you wanted a comparison to an existing ship, its more likely a refit Miranda or Soyuz class (which was a modified miranda). But more likely, its some kind of futuristic miranda analog and not the actual ship. It would be well over 150 years old in STO times.

See, I knew this was going to happen and yet I still had to take a guess. :P
Oh well, at least I can caress my type one phaser to sooth my frayed nerves.

Dont feel bad.
Nebula class ships were designed as a callback to miranda class vessels, just updated for TNG design sensibilities, which is partially why its one of my favorite ship classes.
You never see a nebula class ship get punked out in TNG and even in DS9, they typically were being destroyed by entire assault wings of dominion ships.
I havent paid attention to Star Trek since season 1 of voyager and yet im so super excited by this game. I dont know why.

Still no Klingon images.
It'd be a shame if the only interesting faction was added as a last-minute afterthought.

Do you guys ever plan of fixing your galleries? Why on earth do you take large images and squeeze them down into smaller ones? Just put the fullsize directly in the gallery. As of now each image requires another click.
