Just think of the thousands of fans that would flock to this IP

Want PvP? Sure...lets you play either along the side of humans or Robots.

Classes? Sure have different fighting types (ie heavy weapons, light weapons)for humans and different vehicle types/robots for the same thing.

If done right could be a fun game but not sure how long it would last before the flames wanting to fight and kill the official Skynet popped up.

Done right it could be alot of fun. Of course I've never heard of this "Halcyon Games", so who knows if they'll actually do it right.

This is one of those IPs that could either be a horror show if handled incorrectly or an amazingly good game if done right.

I think alot would probably be all about if the game is PVP humans vs machines with both sides playable factions or PVE with just humans being playable. I'm not sure if having the machines as a playable faction would nessesarly be the best option.

However it WOULD allow for some interesting instanced senarios involving time travel. Example: two people from each side are sent back in time in an instanced mission and compete to save/kill a target in the instance.

The second option only human playable, post rise of the machines earth where humanity is desperatly trying to survive and escape. Huge maps, very intense lots of nasty machines. Having intellegent AI would be VERY key to making a game like this work. The Machines would have to seem fiendishly intellegent, with the humans being more adaptive.

It could all be pulled off right but it would take one heck of a Dev team.......

Can you imagine fighting in the future against the machines in one of those settings from Sarah Connor?! Then high-tail it to the past to protect important people and places. Obviously each of the players could go through all of the missions. Phasing allows for viewing the world differently than other players, especially with the effects of changing the past.

Then players could fight cooperatively against the machine threat in the future all they want. I agree that machines shouldn't be a lobby faction. But they should be playable in some way!!
