"Your turn! How does your Death Knight deviate from the norm?"

I am Shnuggums the Gnome Death Knight. I figure that's different enough.

My guess on the level 64 thing is that it's about the point where someone peters out on their DK, if they're going to.

At 64, they have probably cleared out the first area of the Burning Crusade expansion, Hellfire Peninsula. Especially if they did this near launch, there were tons of groups going into the instances there, so they would have had some runs there as well. Then they get into the second area, Zangarmarsh... and that's where I let my guy sit for a good long time before getting serious about him recently.

FYI, the expansion has been out for two months, not "nearly three whole months". It was released on November 13th. Today is January 14th. I don't mean to nitpick, but that's a pretty big difference. I'm not sure the newness of the class has died down enough for accurate polling results.

I forgot to add - my DK alt is human. The human reputation bonus was the biggest factor in my decision. Poor thing is only 58 because I haven't had much time to play her. Stupid raids and all their preparation... ;)

Personally, I'm sick and tired of seeing DK's. I happened to be levelling my very first toon and I happened to reach Outland recently.

It was frightening. A whole continent with nothing but DK's. Everywhere I looked, every time I grouped, every time I got killed, a DK.

I'm actually hate the entire class. I'm by no means the best player out there, but I had a hard time living through DK encounters as a druid and it nearly kept me from playing. What was Blizzard thinking when they added such a powerful class, at a high level, bags, epic mount and some "I win" buttons.

Que the QQ coments.

Created my Human DK (wanted a draenei, gonna make one with next patch), and am currently 16 bubbles from 80 (stinkin work). Has supplanted my warrior as my main.

I myself think they should of added a healer/caster hero class at the same time as the dk to even things out. After the initial rush of dk's it is now about 80% dk in outlands all looking for healers that just really arent out there. I think this is partially responsible for the lvl 64 roadblock. About that level you still have dungeon quests in your log that you start to realize your never going to get done...cause your never going to find a healer amongst the 34000 other dk's youve found by the lfg tool. Anyone that has a dk has played enough to know that leveling without instance runs is about as fast as digging with a spoon.
This is also the first xp bump that people run into (64,67,74,76). Levels that seem to take twice as long as the ones before or after. Mostly due to the zones your in at that level being travel intensive and the dungeons being less popular among the player base. Most the people I know that gave up on wow did so in mid 60's

i am a female, have a wee little pink-haired, ponytailed gnome DK of DOOM. she's at level 80 and nearly as geared as my main. i spend about 40% of my time on her, 45% on my main and 15% on my third over-70 toon.

...i have no life, do i? :D

Lvl71 DK Draenei 35/5/22. Not much wacky there, other than he has taken the primary slot from my Gnome Warlock.

Getting to the Outlands is easy.

DK's can pretty much solo much of the content in Hellfire Peninsula, save Elites and instances. I do echo the dearth of Priests, Shaman, and Druids that are specialised for healing. You can run Ramparts with Five DK's and expect to run a steamroller over the trash, bosses take a bit more thought and tactics, like Chains of Ice with Death and Decay or serial pulling and rotating aggro-magnets. The problem with this? Highly unlikely with a PuG.

Entering into Zangarmarsh or Terokkar the DK is looking at MANY Green Quests and if the level during those, they can expect more Green Quests. Add this to the slog of grinding up professions and the four levels to 68 seems like climbing K-2.

I suppose if you want to make Northrend with a DK as quickly as possible you need a party. If you do not have a party, skip as much of the Green Quests and jump to Yellow as you can in any given Zone. Should I mention that Rested XP is a godsend and that turning purple is a bad idea? It doesn't work in temper tantrums and it doesn't help getting past the 64slump.

If I ever make a DK it'll be a gnome, just so I can be in that delicious green sliver on the pie chart.

Mmmmm...green pie...

Level 66 Female Night Elf DK, Frost spec, on Thorium Brotherhood(US). This character is an alt and like all my other alts I only play her when I feel like it. However, I love playing a Death Knight and if I weren't burnt out from leveling six other 70s, I'd likely have gotten her past 70 by now.

The statistic for Night Elf DKs surprised me, because on my server I'd say human and night elf DKs are at a tie, followed closely by draenei DKs. Of course that's just my server.

I can see your point of view, but have you even tried the class? People complaining about something rarely bother to know the whole story first. Roll a DK first, level them through their Instanced starter area and then decide if they're really that terrible.

I'm sure it's frustrating trying to level with DKs all around doing things with such ease, but you have to remember that most of those players have already done the grind once, so it's likely easier for them anyway than it is for you as a first timer.

LvL 80 Troll, Frost spec here...(toon is even female to boot)

Originally she was unholy, but it wasn't really working for me, so as one of the tanks in my guild...I switched to frost...one of the better choices I've made...

She supplanted my hunter main right at the beginning, but recently I've taken a break to level my priest.

Myself...I'm male, and I soloed outlands...with the exception of major elites such as Durn. Didn't do much in the way of instances, but you don't really have to if you know which quests to do.

20 Year Old Male Soldier.

I like exploring the world and killing it's inhabitents.

I'm currently working on getting my SECOND Death Knight to 80 as I got sick of my prissy night-elf and want a Tauren.

My Tauren is green btw.

Gnome warrior convert to Human DK main. I switch btw tank, dps, and pvp dps/tank with 50g and the press of a button 71 times. But all specs revolve around Unholy.

Yeah, I explore raid content and kill it if you count that.

And yeah, I explore the BGs and kill hordies if you count that.

And also, I explore Arenas and kill nubs if you count that.

BTW, the so called "tanking buff" to DKs was a blatant PvP nerf. Blizz just didn't want to call it that. I tanked 25 man content and my healers said it was wonderful. Apparently you get less QQ if you hide your intentions in a "buff."

I love you all,

Des

DKs that aren't above 70 by now are by no means "mains". I have a social life and work full time and sleep (more then) 8 hours a night and I still have a level 76 "ex-main" shaman and a level 80 + Tier 7.5 DK.

And as far as all the DKs stuck at 64, they definitely aren't "mains", especially after taking 2 months to do what I did in 1 day. And the lack-of-healers is an awful reason of justification for this road block, as you can hit level 68 soloing 3 areas of Outland in
