I'm not entirely sure, but I think the comments about RIM where a bit off. I'm pretty sure what happened was that RIM was sued for patent infringement by an American company that was basically a "Patent Holding House", or a company that does nothing but buy and hold patents in order to 'extort' money from other companies.

Long story, short: RIM did settle with the American company out of court, rather than face its Blackberry service shutting down in the U.S.. So this kind of stuff does work.

You should be careful who you defame in your podcast. RIM was the company who invented the Blackberry and was the victim of the lawsuit by NTP.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackBerry
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/03/16/rim_ntp_settle_lawsuit/.

While you were just using it as an example the way you derided their good name as an analogue of the Worlds.Com lawsuit could get you into trouble. I hope you retract this in the next show because this kind of a BIG mistake.

Now if you were to use NTP's name... then I think it might be more apt.
