Outspark announces closed beta for Wind Slayer 2D MMO

Same here, I glanced at the image as I was scrolling down and thought "Hmm, a post about Maple Story? Wonder what's going on now, maybe more private serv-- wait what?"

I don't see balanced massive pvp working well on a 2d scale, but hey, feel free to prove me wrong.

yeah, i know what you mean.
if they are going to try and do something like that,
they would have to completely change character types or the ways skills work.
as in maplestory, a high ranking archer would absolutely destory anybody that came close to the the knockback effect,
and then you have your thieves, jumping all over the place...
if they played it a fire emblem type way like rock, paper, scissors combat, i suppose it could work as long as the teams were always balanced,
and thats another issue altogether.

if you haven't already tried it,
seriously try maplestory,
people don't give it alot of credit.
sure, level progression is pretty linear,
but it is surprisingly deep.
i really enjoyed my time with it,
and every now and then ill redownload the client to try out all the new things.
