The news coming out of the Tabula Rasa camp this evening just keeps getting better! First we hear about the new content being released with Deployment 15, then the upcoming PAU and Mech units being released in Deployment 16, and now we get word that the game will be going free-to-play a full month earlier than originally planned.
As of right now, Tabula Rasa is completely free to current players, former players and brand new players. Head on over to the PlayNC store to create or reactivate an account and enjoy the final months of the game at no cost. Check out the official announcement for more details on creating or reactivating an account, and check out the game before it's too late!

Its a shame that we are getting all this content only for it to close in 60 days. Just make the game free to play permanently, and let fans keep the community engaged and moderated. If they can do it with Dungeon Runners, the can do it with TR.

I think you forgot to mention that a credit card was still required to activate an account.

Yeah, I too am unclear on how to create a new account, and my old beta/preorder account will not let me upgrade. I was hoping to try it out, especially if it aids in pushing NC to maintain at least 1 F2P server. But I am not going to jump through hoops to do it.

I'm an existing player, and I'm trying out how to get a game code by creating a new account.
Currently I've tried:
1) Heading to support site: http://help.plaync.com/cgi-bin/plaync.cfg/php/enduser/acct_login.php
2) Clicking "Ask a Question"
3) Filling in info & asking for a Tabula Rasa code
4) Following prompts to create an account.
Now I'm just waiting to see what happens, and I'll reply here with the results.

Yeah keep me posted, I wish they would have made it clear how to do it, as I am sure it is turning casual people away from trying it.

This is a perfect time for everyone to try it for themselves and make their own decisions about the game rather than only listen to the people who tried it at launch, raced to 50, got bored, and continue to rant that it sucks.
Additionally, you can also download the Public Test Server client where you can instantly make lvl 50 toons from a mission npc, and buy all the lvl 50 gear you need from another. (You can even easily get all the crafting currency you need to try out the new crafting system which is 1,000 times better (IMHO) than the one at launch.) The installer for the PTS client is at: ftp://ftp.playtr.com/public_test/setup_data_files/ (and yes, it is a big download, but you probably download it while WoW is down most of Tuesdays for server maintenance).
Sure the game's going to be closing in 2 months, but now's your chance to make your own judgments about it.
