Wow, it turns out Dungeon Runners is still alive and kicking. We haven't heard anything from them since the news that the game's staff was cut dramatically, yet it's good to hear something new out of the team over there. Apparently the game is still going strong, as the patch notes for Build 153 have just been released.
With Build 153, players get quite a few new changes. Aside from bug fixes and graphical improvements, PvP rated match have been changed and six new skills have been added to the game: Shadow Words, Fire Shot, Dungeon Inferno, Gosh's Glorious Shower of Gold, Cold Snap and Oh Snap! Check out the complete patch notes for more information.

Unfortunately, build 153 was delayed due to some bugs that got identified at the last minute. They'll be fixed in build 154 and all the new content should be published on January 5th (the holidays delay things - good for employees to get vacation, bad for gamers wanting new stuff now ;) ).
That being said, the devs are knocking out some great content and communicating well with the players regularly, despite being a small team. I've been testing the new build extensively and really like all the new skills, but especially the fire ranger ones.
The updated Shivery winter quests are fun, the new armor sets are cool and mythic katanas ftw!
On top of that, the team is working on a group only, level 100 boss gauntlet, as well as cool new features like item sets, item socketing and traps in dungeons.
Simply put, from a gamer's perspective, Dungeon Runners is going strong, despite having a small concurrent population and a small development team.

Is this a pretty lively game? I thought about picking it up at Best Buy. Their 6month service pack is only $15.

$15 is steal - that's 6 months of membership for the price of 3 and you get the bling gnome, which is a really nice feature. Heck, if you enjoyed the game for a couple of hours, much less for 6 months, you got a bargain.
Rollins makes a really good point, though. You can download the game for free and try it out. The entire download is only about 600MB, so it has a tiny footprint. On top of that, it runs on almost any PC.
In terms of "will you enjoy it?". That's obviously subjective. Dungeon Runners is "MMO-lite", so it doesn't have all the features of a game like WoW, EQII, WAR, etc... Personally, I like to think of Dungeon Runners as Diablo's smartass bastard stepchild who grew up and staged a coup. It's a funny (also subjective), Diabloesque hack-n-slash, but with modern features and in a persistent, albeit small, world. It's also rife with pop culture references.
Worst you can do is give it a try. If you like it, cool. If not, that's cool, too!

You can already get the 6 month subscription and gnome from the box. Anybody who lives outside the US and Canada can simply purchase the serial code for the box online at plaync.com.
