Close it down now and stop wasting your time developing an mmorpg that wont be popular nore good. Today you need to compete with WoW and from the gameplay I saw you can tell that Stargate will be more Tabula Rasa than even AoC lol.

You can say it's alpha all you like but from what I've seen of mmorpgs the core mechanics never change and it's the core mechanics that are the things that need changing.

Probably be a better move to try and sell the IP to SOE or something cause they buy anything these days.

Moo, it's the IP that will sell the game, not it's mechanics, just like for LotRO. LotRO has pretty mundane and generic gameplay, but it's still be very successful due to creating a virtual world fans enjoy immersing themselves in. If Cheyenne Mountain can capture the same IP "feel" for Stargate that Turbine did for Lord of the Rings, there's no reason why it can't find a healthy niche and exist right alongside WoW.

WoW didn't kill Tabula Rasa, a generic world and generic gameplay did.

I tend to disagree with that assessment of TR. TR had great gameplay, but mediocre progression and dismal endgame. The TR devs lacked focus to build on the good things they had.

If Stargate Worlds wants to survive, it needs to take the best of Tabula Rasa's gameplay features and combine it with a free to play model and getting the Stargate lore in properly. The fanbase is there but I think a monthly fee will be a dealbreaker for many of them. Particularly with The Old Republic coming in guns blazing with a free to play model.

they don't have to compete with WoW, the prospect of the IP is enuph to draw players, ive known a number of ppl who don't play video games and watched WoW and had no interest in WoW but were interested in stargate worlds for the IP and the gameplay presented in its ads. also old republic recently had a anouncement (talked about on this web sites articles) saying it would be supported in some way by microtransactions.

The IP of this game is the one of my favorite Scifi series... And I really will love someone make a stargate game any game will do!! The last Stargate game was canceled lets hope this one does not.

And it does not look good ale of CafePress is one of the worst stores on the internet I use them to help keep my comic site up and running before so I do known how much they suck.

Well, I've ordered a Scientist t-shirt. I'd like to see this game go live, and if the worst comes to the worst I'll have a fairly damn limited edition t-shirt :-D
