If turbine would take the best of DDO and LOTRO they would have would great game. Instead they opt to have the best of both worlds seperate.

Not sure what you are implying with that comment, but there are definitely some great things in both games. Things that I would like both games to take from each other; but nonetheless, both games are really fun in their own way and I shall continue playing both :)

I know very little about DDO, but is the hireling system going to mean that players will be able to form sufficiently sized parties composed just of 1 player + NPCs ?

I love that feature of Guild Wars, so it would be a big selling point for me. : )

No, one player can only hire and summon ONE hireling NPC during an adventure. So there's no Guild Wars one player with a full group of NPC's happening here.

The hirelings themselves are controllable like Guild Wars' Heroes, but their build and equipment are pre-configured like a Henchman.

Thanks, Talyn ; not like I needed yet another MMO vying for my attention anyway.
