If you want round the clock wow news I might suggest going to wowinsider.

I get a bit irritated when massively covers an mmo excessively.

Yeah, call me nuts but I think the presence of WoW insider makes any WoW coverage here (that's not an aggregate post from WoW insider) redundant and annoying.

Totally agree, expecially when it's lined by excessive hype and simply echoes silly blizzard marketing spins.

You know Abriael, people ARE allowed to enjoy WoW and say positive things about it. That doesn't make it excessive hype and/or marketing spins.

For example, i really like the show Heroes, me talking about it on a blog does not constitute me being bought out by "the man".

Let people enjoy themselves and talk about what they enjoy, you don't need to constantly come on here insulting the people who post just because they enjoy WoW. Please add something to the conversation that is positive for once.

I'm not hating on Blizzard (though I'm not a fan of WoW), it's just that the blogmedia people have a whole entire blog for WoW. Because of that focus Massively really shouldn't see any WoW coverage at all. That podcast that just happened? It shouldn't be in the realm of this site, but should be on WoW insider. It would be like if blogmedia had motorcycleblog.com and posted 20% of it's content as rehashes of what autoblog has under the guise that it's both transportation.

Why? Last time I checked the site was called Massively, which tends to infer that its main topic of discussion is MMO's. WoW is an MMO, a very, very big MMO. Whether you like it or not, its presence and success have changed the genre forever, and had an impact on the MMOs you play. Being such a major player in the market, I believe it is more than worthy of discussion on any MMO geared site-WoW specific or not.

Because it's like creating a filing cabinet with a folder that says WoW, then copying everything in that folder and throwing it on the ground.

And also, for the reasons you stated, WoW has it's own blog (last time I checked hey second grade)

Bam, so are you saying that if there is a TV show that covers baseball exclusively, that NO OTHER TV show can ever say anything about baseball?

No, but that's not what's happening here. WoW insider and Massively are owned by the same company. If you're analogy was true, there would be nothing to complain about. I think you missed the point though. The idea is that it's redundant.

As a reader of Wowinsider and Massively, the stories covered here about WoW are completely different from those covered at wowinsider. Every...single...post about wow here gets a couple of hate comments. I think I'm going to start posting hate comments on every other MMO.

Do you wow-hate posters have to be so emo?

Well, in Massively's defense, this article IS a response to reader requests after all. It's not like Massively decided to cram this down our throats, it's a response to a gazillions e-mails. If they don't cover WoW at all, then the forums fill with posts of "zomg, y u hate WoW? U nvr takl abut it an stuff. U guyz r diks, stop hatin on WoW"

:p

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Wouldn't it be nice if Blizzard kept an original wow server around? One without any expansion, just for old-times sake?
