The Ironbreaker grudge "nerf" isn't nearly as bad as they (or most forum posters) make it out to be. The rate we gain Grudge when getting hit is virtually unchanged, we just gain less than 5 grudge for every enemy over 3 that are hitting us. The major change is in Oath Friend where we gain much less, but I've found that I am either at 0 grudge or at 100 and able to spam my abilities that cost Grudge with no problem.

Also most DoT and HoT abilities dont say how they were nerfed or buffed, just that Stats were rebalanced and due to that, dmg or healin was buffed or nerfed.

For all we know, they made it require more INT to pull off DoTs of the same damage as now, so people with their current INT levels will get a decrease in damage because they don't have a massive amount int. Same thing for Healing. Chances are they did something with the stat coefficients that requires them to lower the base healing, because, maybe, with our current willpower amounts, we would heal for insane amounts with the new stat coefficients.

We have to wait till the PTS server goes up to truely know if it is as we fear, or the other way around.

I haven't even decided a main character to play yet (almost 2 months in as well). I've got a T4 BW, a T3 IB, a T2 AM, a T2 Chosen, a T2 Sorc, and T1 of every other career that exists. I've pretty much abandoned the Order side, though, because they all seem pompus (not the characters, the players).

I was thinking of being a healer, but I'm unsure because many say that healers are pointless in T4 except for the PvE encounters and I don't PvE much at all, I'm all for the PvP/RvR. Although, I've been a Sorc and like it very much, only it relies heavily on a healer to do that high damage output. The Sorc is still below BW as far as damage and which is better, that's because most of our spells are 2-3sec cast while the BW are instant for the equivalent spells. Hopefully the "DOT change" will increase the use of the Sorc DOTs because AOE and direct spells seem to be the only use at the moment for them.

Lol @ overexaggerating a TON. "BIG" nerf here "BIG" loosers there.

The only big nerf is that of CC, which was honestly much needed (and it seriously outweights the grudge weakening for iron breakers, that now will be MUCH more free to go around and do what they need to do), or better, it's mostly a fix.

All in all, the patch seems a great and extensive step towards a more balanced and much more fun (expecially for melees) game.

I think the IB changes are nonsense. Slowing the rate at which IBs gain grudge and increasing the quickness with which it dissipates is really nothing more than a damage reduction to abilities like Heavy Blow, Inspiring Attack, and Binding Grudge.

I honestly just don't see the point. They've in essence created a tank that excels at being attacked, and then give the enemy no reason whatsoever to attack him. Why on earth would you hit an IB when it just makes him stronger? Even clothies can ignore that pithy white damage.

At least pre-nerf, they were able to do enough damage over time to come in around the middle in DPS and contribution. I can't fathom how an Ironbreaker is supposed to get contribution in a keep siege now.

I think the HoT nerf is an indirect nerf to BW/Sorc because its easy for healers to HoT them up and they can blast away and wait on HoTs to replace health in they are unlucky with backlash, allowing them to stay at higher combustion levels doing exponentially more damage output.

We will have to see how Grudge works, Mark has already cut back on the 'nerf' a bit. Its great they will be running it on the test server, we can all test it and give feedback before it goes like. I'd also point out within 24 hours of the patch notes coming out Mythic changed them after reading feedback from the community. That's a great way to work, as long as they are sensible suggestion and not just whining. I know I was worried about the Grudge changes, I still am, but as long as they listen to the players and don't just come back with "We have a plan" or "Working as intended" I think we can all mostly be happy Mythic is trying very hard to create a game the players feel they have shaped.

Wow Mythic, the two classes (BW and Sorc) that needed to get nerfed got buffed up instead and at the same time you nerf heals? So much for melee getting a chance to do something other then die in RvR.

Patch 1.05 = fail
